No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

The "improvements" in the Edision receivers may be important in Europe but are not here. Why is 4K necessary when there are no 4K broadcasts? Lower SR rate capable? Not necessary for me. Even DVB-S2X seems unnecessary. I've never seen a viewable broadcast that required this. All I want from a...

No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

Yes, one tuner and streaming gives a lot to choose from. Just this week I'm finally getting full use of both tuners by having a Ku-band motor on Tuner A and a C-band motor on Tuner B. Again, combining this with all the streaming I've set up, my Mio+ gets a lot of use.

No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

But the Mio+ which I have has two tuners. The Mio has one tuner. All moot points since neither are available anywhere anymore except used. The Mini looks good.

Goid price! Delivery is almost free to Morth America: less than 2 euros. I wonder if the dealer is reliable.

No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

I didn't locate any Edision Mio, Mio+ or Mini receivers, but I see there is one called Edision Proton S2+ available from Europe. It costs in the range of US$50 delivered to North America. Worth studying.

    TNAP 6.0. Beta-test images

I will monitor progress on TNAP6. But it's not yet ready to install. TNAP 5.1 is great as it is anyway for now.

    TNAP 6.0. Beta-test images

I tried loading the osmio4kplus TNAP6 today into a vacant slot. It loaded, then autorestored and I was able to run it. But I found it wouldn't connect to my network so I restarted and it then hung. To recover, I had to use the emergency power-off method where you power on, press the MENU key...

    EPG discussion on Enigma2 STB's

Here Starlink is being promoted at a one time $142 cost for hardware and a monthly fee of $100 in local currency. Could you justify for your home? I don't think they have limits so video streaming might work out OK.

Edision OS Mio 4k, What's the largest size external drive it can handle?

How about a new WD 4TB HDD for $120? Seems a good price. I guess you want external powered. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-easystore-4tb-external-usb-3-0-portable-hard-drive-black/6406511.p?skuId=6406511

    Install new version of TNAP?

I just downloaded the new update for TNAP5 dated January 1, 2024. See images below. First image shows using Positioner Setup with a locked SNR of 17.32 dB. Note the two decimal places. Second image shows same transponder with the dish not precisely aimed showing a non-locked SNR of 1.40 dB...

    Install new version of TNAP?

Edision shines again. If your dish gets anywhere near a signal then the SNR starts bobbing to let you know you're near. And the two-decimal point Positioner Setup fix will be in the next set of online updates.

    Install new version of TNAP?

I brought this to el bandido's attention. He has sent an image showing Positioner Setup displaying two decimal places! So let's hope we can get this too in the near future. I already have a new pre-release of software that allows displaying of a signal even if not yet locked. This is great for...

    Install new version of TNAP?

I noticed this right away. But it doesn't bother me. I only receive one transponder where I need more than whole integer resolution. That's LPB on 87W. In most cases, 0.5 dB this way or that doesn't visually matter. In fact, I've been using USALS lately for this reason. Perhaps precise tuning...

    Install new version of TNAP?

This is to encourage Edision users to take the plunge and update to TNAP5. It is stable and there are good reasons to update. My Mio+ box is now more of an entertainment centre than just a satellite receiver. It handles streaming very conveniently, if that's important to you. With my 1 Gbps...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

Today is a sunny clear day. So using the SNR as my tuning aid, I have scanned in a total of 12 channels. This includes new channels 24-1 to 24-4 KBCB at 503 MHz on the same tower but 150 feet lower down the mast from KVOS' antenna. I had never received them before. They are the weakest of all...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

Glad you told me that. I've been looking for an excuse to update to TNAP5. I did and SNR now shows! My "local" station in Victoria, BC (CHEK 6-1 on 485 MHz) about 66 miles away is 16.0 dB in the rain. KVOS 12-1 to 12-7 on 473 MHz and 77 miles away is jumping around from 13.0 to 15.2 dB. At this...
