Which LNB is for which satellite?

When 129 shut down the only mod I made to my WA DPP was to put a piece of aluminum tape over that "eye" to minimize aiming mistakes when setting up the dish at a new location. Didn't cost Dish a dime...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Just like our Firestick remotes. I recently got one of the new Firestick Pro remotes that have two programmable buttons and backlit buttons. Very handy...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

How "seamless" do you want it? My wife just turned on the TV from her Firestick remote, selected YTTV Live, and scrolled through the channels until she found something she liked. If she knew what she wanted, she would have just pressed a button on the remote and asked it to find the program she...

Teardown video/photos of Hopper 3 or similar receivers

Navy basically has it right. About the only recognizable devices under the hood are the hard drive and cooling fan, along with a bunch of chips and supporting resistors, capacitors, etc. Trying to trace out who does what is an exercise in futility lacking any schematics and appropriate chip...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Exactly... Our twin daughters are 56, and one streams everything she watches, works at home doing medical billing/auditing with two screens open on her desktop plus her laptop also sits on her desk, all with multiple windows open. And she has a bunch of apps on her phone that she uses regularly...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

My 88 year old neighbor is quite comfortable using YTTV as her primary provider. She also makes good use of her Firestick remote's voice option for finding programs on other apps without a lot of manual searching. She tells it what she wants (big Naked & Afraid fan) and only needs a couple of...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Exactly... Our local seniors center has various level IT courses they offer regularly. The entry and intermediate courses are almost always fully booked. The advanced course less so, but is still always nearly fully booked. I used to teach all three levels, but my travel and now health...

    Dish Remote Question!

My point is that the providers pay Dish for placement on the remotes. I don't know how often those selections are updated.

    Dish Satellite Names

Did 23 replace 10 & 11? Not being on Dish now, I haven't kept up. I went by what my DishPointer app lists, but that could well be out of date.

    Dish Satellite Names

I don't know which labels your app uses, but the 110 satellites are Echostar 10 & 11, and the 119 sats are Echostar 7 & 14 as I recall.

    Dish Remote Question!

Which buttons are used depends on which providers are paying for them.

    LNB Caps shot

The 1000.2 reflector is slightly smaller than the 1000.4 reflector,so there may be some slight signal strength loss. A .2 LNB works perfectly with a .4 reflector, but I have not tried one the other way around.

    LNB Caps shot

As said, the 1000.4 has a long elevation fine tuning rod on the back. A 1000.4 will accept 1000.2 LNB's with a minor modification to the plastic arm adapter.

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

I have no idea how he'll pull it off, but I wouldn't count Charlie out just yet. He's had an ace up his sleeve more than once.

What’s keeping you guys with Dish Network…

O When we were fulltiming and primarily using state and national parks on the east coast, we had usable cell based Internet with either our AT&T or Verizon unlimited data hot spot services using rooftop antennas, and often both, everywhere we went. Now part time, we'll be staying at a couple of...

How to tell a 1000.4 vs 1000.2 Dish?

If they don't have the parts, try HD, Lowes, Tru-Value, etc. Amazon might list them too, but I haven't looked.

How to tell a 1000.4 vs 1000.2 Dish?

Yep, they're common 1/4-20 thread for the mounting and adjusting bolts. The elevation fine tuning nut is 5/16-20. The various spacers are 1/4" nylon bushings, and the longer carriage bolts for the lower reflector mounting and pole mount also came from Ace, although I'd expect HD and Lowes would...

What’s keeping you guys with Dish Network…

We still have Dish on hold while we try streaming with YTTV and a few other apps. I have to say though, we've been pleasantly surprised at how easy the transition is going. We continue to find features and short cuts regularly that are making the transition even easier. The true test though...

    Winegard Pathfinder and Two Wallys?

You could record or watch multiple shows on multiple satellites. Each receiver could record a show on one satellite while you watched a show on another satellite for example.

How to tell a 1000.4 vs 1000.2 Dish?

I should have mentioned that I anchored the tripod with either a screw-in dog tie out and a heavy duty bungee cord or a half full 5 gallon pail of water and the bungee cord depending on the circumstances.
