Technically there are 10,000 combinations (don't forget 0000) but I agree with the suggestion. Just keep trying combinations. Start with easy ones, 0000, 1111, 2222, 1234, 2345, etc. Patience is a virtue.
I'm Adelphia-bound. They have 13 channels of HD here (including locals) + an HD DVR. I just hope the PQ is good. I'll post my findings in the cable section once I have it installed on the 30th.
No specific announcement from D* but plenty of speculation in the HDTV Programming forum on AVS. Its all based on the new mpeg4 capable sats going up over the next few months. Its rumored to be a 2 or 3 year transition. So I guess I should've said that D* HD receivers are likely to become...
I don't have a Tivo or DVD recorder but I've already saved the Peter Gabriel concert to S-VHS. I wanted to catch the 1997 Montreux Jazz Festival just for ELP but haven't seen it listed lately.
Hey elocs, thanks for throwing cold water on our debate. ;) It sure was alot more fun debating which new channels were coming. Anyhoo, I'm getting Adelphia cable hooked up on the 30th but I'd still like to have an OTA receiver in case their local feed PQ is bad. (fingers crossed)
Verizon will be using Microsoft's IPTV as well and I think they are the most likely candidate to pick up some or all of the Voom 21's. They aren't rolling out IPTV until the end of the year so I'm not sure what would happen if those channels were dark for six months. Of course this is all just...
...of 15. They also offer an HD DVR for $6 or $7. Plus no commitment in case something better comes along (Verizon FIOS/IPTV?!?).
One word of warning about D*, they will be switching to MPEG4 this summer and equipment you buy now will become obsolete (at least for new channels in the short...
Not trying to be funny or start rumors but is Voom down right now? I get the box about the satellite is not available. My service is down but it could be because of the weather. Anyone watching Voom right now?
When I first heard about them meeting that was my impression as well. AMC6 was said to be needed to add channels anyway so a complete move to it would not change the plan much. The problem is that Dolan needs Rainbow 1 for a few(several?) months for a transition to AMC6. It has plenty of...
...a music channel, at least get the audio right! I watched about half of the Peter Gabriel concert and there were 4 or 5 dropouts. The audio used to be awesome on this channel. So disappointing.
Well, if VoOM doesn't improve the PQ they can always hope that D* and E* PQ gets worse...
Something came to mind when reading Vicki's post with emphasis added. If Malone was making these comments while discussing the results of his company with analysts from around the world, he may just be trying to distance himself from Voom so as not to negatively affect his stock price. Just...
...too.
And as for me, even though I have a 50" plasma I am not VaVaVooming because I already increased my monthly bill from what I paid for D* and it was the only way to convince my wife to get Voom. I'm still trying to figure out how to justify the jump to VaVaVoom but in time I'm sure I...
I also noticed the audio dropouts on Rave and I can't honestly say that any of the channels look better than or even as good as before the new encoders. Thats OK for now as long as they're still tweaking them.
I think "continue to provide service to its current customers" refers to providing programming. No ones Voom service has been turned off, just the website.
I agree with Philhu on why its back up but disagree that it will go away on 3/08. If Dolan Sr manages to pull this off he will purchase the voom.com domain name as well. Why would cablevision want it anymore anyway? My guess is that he put up the voomllc.com and newvoom.com sites because cvc...
