    Selecting Correct Dish

Welcome to Satelliteguys Pam! It's unlikely you can get an HR24 from Directv. It's an older model. You will most likely be offered an HS17 and a mini Genie. The HS17 doesn't connect to a tv, only the mini Genie does. The dish would be a Slimline. Call Directv and request an upgrade. Do you have...

    HR20 recievers

The H/HR20s are the ones with the Zenith tuners and I think work without being authorized.

    HR20 recievers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the OTA tuner work even if the box wasn't authorized? They had excellent gen 5 Zenith tuners in them.

Problems with local channels using DirecTV and StarLink internet access

There must be an easy fix for this. Directv must have figured for this exact situation.

    Stream Confusion

A very good summation of Directv streaming! I decided after a few months to add a Gemini Air to make navigation a bit easier.

    Question regarding stationary Camper setup.

You must have an HS17 Genie.

    Stream Confusion

You want Directv Stream with a Gemini Air.

Futile effort (undoubtably) to explain my issues with DirecTV.

You might want to check out Directv Stream. There are no extra fees.

Moved and switched to Directv Stream - Is Gemini worth it?

I've only used the Gemini Air, so I can't give you any advice.

Moved and switched to Directv Stream - Is Gemini worth it?

I also went from Directv satellite to streaming through the app. I was getting used to it, but bought a Gemini Air and I'm glad I did. It's much easier to navigate the guide.

    leaving dish

You might want to consider Directv Stream. I was a satellite customer for 20 years and went to streaming last fall. It takes some getting used to, but I'm happy I made the switch.

    leaving dish

The most likely scenario is Directv supplying an HS17 and two clients. The models will depend upon if you want 4k or not. If you get the equipment from Solid Signal you will have to pay out of pocket for them. It's free from Directv.

    DTV Stream

No, there are no extra charges. Not yet anyways!

shut off both boxes at the same time how do I set it up to have both boxes to shut off separately with remote?

My apologies, I misread your post. The only way I know of is to set up the connections by HDMI and enable the CEC setting on the television.
