I've have a friend who recently upgraded his AV reciever. (Onkyo) With his HR22-100 connected, he get's frequent, momentary (1 sec) audio dropouts while watching network television broadcasted in Dobly D. When these dropouts occur his receiver displays "daiglog norm" which is Dolby Digital's...

Installing New HD in a VIP 722

The HD in my 722 died. I ordered a Seagate ST3500830SCE as a replacement....which from what I've read should work. Do I need to prepare the drive in anyway as part of the installation....partition, etc? Once installed will the 722 automatically format and install software? Thanks, John

    Louisville, KY HD locals

Thanks, I'm currently using 3 722's and a DPP44 switch. Within the last couple of months Dish sent me two new smart cards, said the 3rd receiver didn't need a card. One last dumb question. If I installed a 1000.4 on my own, does Dish have to do anything on their end for me to use the new sats?

    Louisville, KY HD locals

Thanks, I guess I need to educate myself a little bit more on this. The eastern arc is 3 sats......61.5, 72.7, and 77....is that correct? So your're saying for me in Louisville, these 3 satellites would cover everything that's on 110/119 and as long as my line of sight is ok, there would be...

    Louisville, KY HD locals

So if I understand this correctly, Louisville HD is on 77. Currently I have a 500 dish for 110 and 119, and a 300 "wing" dish for 61.5 If I replace my 300 dish with a 1000.4 dish I can receiver both 77 and 61.5 on it? Thanks, John

Dish to start upgrading HD customers to MPEG4

Very true, I guess I was thinking in terms of my own experiences with my 921. I think I might pull the Hard Drive and call it a day. IMHO it was pretty outdated even with MPEG2, maybe not "useless" but I was definitely happy to deactivate it. :) Regards, John

Dish to start upgrading HD customers to MPEG4

I own a 921. I got a voice msg a couple of weeks ago from Dish telling me they needed to upgrade my 921. I called and the deal was a 622 to replace my 921. The 622 would be a leased unit, however, the lease payments are waived. So it's a free receiver............with the understanding it has...

    OTA vs. SAT HiDef

That's a great idea, thanks. :) Just got a HD flat screen.....new receiver........and what's the first thing the wife wants to do.......watch one HD local while recording another HD local. The next thing she'll want to do is record 2 HD locals at the same time. Oh well. Maybe we'll get...

    OTA vs. SAT HiDef

Just got a 722 receiver. Living in Louisville, Ky we're limited to OTA HD which I hooked up. Am I correct as far as OTA channels are concerned, if you are currently recording an OTA channel, you can not watch another OTA channel? If you are currently watching an OTA show that was previously...

    Owning vs. Leasing

Thanks....I was wondering about the resale. Anyone know about the $7 fee. Is that a lease fee? As long as I have a HD package would there be any other fee for the receiver besides the DVR fee? John

    Owning vs. Leasing

I need to add some HD DVR's. I called Dish.....$125 for a 722 with $13 a month for the receiver. ($6 for DVR, $7 for the HD Receiver) Are there any advantages on buying/owning a receiver? Do you save any money? Do you still have to pay the $7 HD Receiver fee if you own the receiver...

    Question about 921 output

I'm currently using the DVI output on my 921. Is the 75 ohm cable output "active" also. In other words could I have dual displays at the same time, one from each output. Thanks, John

    721 DVR and DPP Separator

Thanks for the tip. What kind of problems do you get with two cables vs one cable and the separator? Regards, John

    721 DVR and DPP Separator

Okay.....so if I have a DishPro Dual LNBF and a DishPRo Twin LNBF going into a DPP44 switch and I need to feed a 921, 721 and a 510.......can I add DPP Separator so I can give the 721 it's two inputs. I can not get two cables to the 721. Thanks for your patience. John

    721 DVR and DPP Separator

It's my understanding that current 721 software does not support DishPRo Plus Separators. I've been told that the software download for this support is close, as in any day. Can anyone confirm this? Regards, John

I'm going to need a "Shrink"

I sent Emails to the above address and the other fella recommended on this forum when this all started. I actually was very nice. I just explained what happened, understood that Dishstore.net was in contact with Dish to see if anything could be done for us, and asked that they that give this...
