    6ft Mesh Dish Performance?

I agree. I have the 75cm PrimeStar for Ku. Wish I had the 84... But I have a 90cm round HughesNet dish to try on Ku.

LTE filters and the current repack

Unless the interfering frequency is on a harmonic of a channel's frequency you want to receive. And the fact that the cell interference can overload a pre-amp makes a filter standard equipment in my eyes

    6ft Mesh Dish Performance?

I'm in a good spot too in Arkansas. And I have no trees at all in my view. I don't need everything for the bedroom TV, just enough so two satellites can be watched at once.

    Balun Info?

OTA broadband baluns suck! LOL. Always some variation. But what I do is buy Channel Master outdoor baluns at around $6/each. A guy on one OTA forum by the username "rabbit73" tested some baluns. Older ChannelMaster baluns worked best, but the new ones could perform nearly as well if you cut...

    6ft Mesh Dish Performance?

Ah, okay. And have you or anyone else heard of any cool experimental projects for 6ft mesh dishes? I had wondered if it was possible to convert it into a solid dish with foil tape across the surface to enhance Ku gain? Maybe convert it into an offset with a new feed?

    6ft Mesh Dish Performance?

Yes, I never complain about freebies, just curious if I can plan on certain signals not locking at all on a 6ft. I figure the borderline ones on the 8ft won't stand a chance, but most at the top of the arc are pretty strong.

    6ft Mesh Dish Performance?

I can get a free 6ft dish, and was wondering how much different it would be than an 8ft for signals near the top of the arc? I'm just wanting it for the satellites from 87-107w for my bedroom TV. My true south is 93w position, and I live at 35 N. What should I expect on C-Band? Worth the time?

AMIKO Looking for STB w/ dB Signal Meter

This box is a new animal for sure. I have a wifi dongle in the back usb (connected to the internet thru my router), but I am having trouble linking the box to dreamdroid. I enter the stb's ip into the app, but I don't know if I need a port number or how to determine what it is. Could you lead...

Fox local channel no longer on Dish

Well if you have a Ku dish, the Fox station from Grand Junction, CO is up on 91w. It's been up for months too. That would be one way to watch.

AMIKO Looking for STB w/ dB Signal Meter

The Mini is no Mio, but I do appreciate it nonetheless.

AMIKO Looking for STB w/ dB Signal Meter

When my finances fatten up a little more, I plan to go for a Edision OS Mio+, but for now, this will be a way to learn and get more comfortable with Linux stbs.

AMIKO Looking for STB w/ dB Signal Meter

It would give me an idea if my system may be need some fine tuning and better components vs a bigger dish. But of course, dish size is the king factor of pulling in the more complex modulation schemes. That, and it would give me a reference point to other BUD owners who compare signal levels...

AMIKO Looking for STB w/ dB Signal Meter

There are different dB level limits required to open different encoding types (QPSK, 8QPSK, 16qpsk etc).

AMIKO Looking for STB w/ dB Signal Meter

I have 2 receivers, but neither give me anything but signal level/quality. The Amiko Mini HD265 meter is great, but my other box is not calibrated, so it's kinda tough to know how strong some signals are on it. Anyone know of a good receiver on the lower price side that gives signal figures in...

Smart tv with manual channel scan?

Glad you found a LG that is the right size. My 55" LG has both scan functions and is really sensitive for DXing.

FCC to sell c band spectrum

Sounds correct by my knowledge. I know 5GHz wifi has faster download speeds with more bandwidth and limited range compared to 2.4GHz wifi. But I still use 2.4GHz because my ISP only can provide 50 mbps. When I lived in the city, I used 5GHz because of less congestion on the band.

FCC to sell c band spectrum

There are many areas of the CONUS as well that may never see fiber because of the low population density. Seems corporations are using the funds earmarked for rural infrastructure on buying out competitors instead. Every time I see reduced competition, I see poorer customer service.

FCC to sell c band spectrum

The FCC is planning to use a 1934 law as basis of taking spectrum from satellite operators that they already sold to them?? Imagine that. FDR-era legislation for the win again... The biggest statist this country has had. Closest thing to a dictator we had. The spectrum is already sold. It...

FCC to sell c band spectrum

I'm a HAM tech ticket holder, mainly for SkyWarn and local 2m/70cm nets. I'd like to get into HF and beyond one day, but I am unable to devote the time or money yet. All I'll say is the FCC better not go after HAM's bands...
