OTHER Using a rotator motor for my 3' HughesNet dish

I've been using my STAB120 for 10 years with my Fortec 120cm without issue. It has been 100% reliable. Before that I had a Motec knockoff that lasted only 2 years.

Thanks for posting - that makes sense.

Mesa, AZ - bringing Shaw Direct equipment with me, will it work?

I just looked up the channel frequencies and it looks like they only need G1 at this point. They are only using the lower band of G1 11.2 to 11.7 and the regular 11.7-12.2 on F2. They could move all of F2 over to G1 if they wanted to right now.

Cspan analog NTSC channel is going to disappear

Just white text on a blue background saying that CSPAN will cease November 1 on <wrong satellite name>. I would disagree and say that CSPAN has already ceased. Last analog channel. I'll miss the sparkles.

Troubleshooting signal loss at certain times of day - C/N margin

Is this a shiny white fiberglass dish or a matt black mesh? Can you take a picture of the sun and shadows on the dish at both times of outages?

Troubleshooting signal loss at certain times of day - C/N margin

How about LNB drift in the hottest part of the day? I see that it is 31c (88f)every day this week in "Central Texas".

    OTHER Digipower SG-2100 Replacement ?

You could also try a different power supply - even a slightly larger amperage. 12v 2A. Also, try moving the dish with only 13v by changing to a vertical channel on a different satellite.

    Salvaged Venture 24" Actuator

I just drilled a hole in my newer motor's drive shaft to accomondate the pin and now the old actuator is on the newer motor and all are swappable. By swapping the parts as I have them, the newer motor slack does not affect the older actuator and the newer actuator slack is taken away from the...

Mesa, AZ - bringing Shaw Direct equipment with me, will it work?

The ANIK G1 beam only covers Canada and the northern US. Much like the newer batch of satellites launched in the last decade, they just cover the area they are meant to service. Here is the G1 chart...

Mesa, AZ - bringing Shaw Direct equipment with me, will it work?

You will only be able to receive ANIK F2 at 111 degrees from AZ. Here is a link to Shaw Broadcast's list of channels on that satellite. https://www.shawbroadcast.com/Documents/2021/sep/2/F2%20Ku-Band%20Channel%20Chart%20August%2031st%202021.xlsx Take a look at the list and decide if there is...

    Salvaged Venture 24" Actuator

Cool. I just looked up a rolled pin and see the reason it was used. You can put it in and then punch it to expand it into a tight fit. Makes sense.

    Salvaged Venture 24" Actuator

Last week I took down a pretty old Venture 24" actuator that hasn't moved in the last 25 years. I don't know how old it actually is (early 80's?) but I am amazed at how similar it is to my 5 year old Venture 24". The old fiberglass dish and the arm sitting fully retracted for 25 years I took...

    network down

If you have a red light on the front of the box then your receiver is not seeing the satellite. Check the connector on the coax cable from the dish. Is it damaged? Check that the coax cable from the dish is in the SAT input and not the RF output.

    network down

The Network Down message isn't about the coax cable - it is about the RJ45 computer network cable is not plugged in. It doesn't have any affect on the satellite reception. If the receiver is not seeing the LNB/Dish or is out of point you will see a message that it has lost satellite reception...

    Elevation / Declination Azimuth diagram

I could barely read it when I was using it. It is a transparent GIF and depending on the background it is legible or not. It works in this post for me but if I open the GIF as a file on my mac it is pixelated garbage. I'm going to make screen shot and resave it It really did save me a bunch...

    Elevation / Declination Azimuth diagram

We are entering the next solar outage period - starting around October 8th or so. With the sun running on the same arc as the geostationary satellites for about a week, it is a great time to see which satellites are in your view and what might be blocking certain positions. I also have a clear...

    Elevation / Declination Azimuth diagram

I just wanted thank whoever posted this image here originally It really helped me tweak my dish for the whole arc Ku after I just did some over adjusting. Specifically, I didn't adjust anything else except Declination once I knew saw the picture and compared my situation. CBand was not...
