    help setup directv receiver..

    I have directv service at my house and brought a standard box to my moms house who also has directv service but when I try to plug in the box I get a message saying searching for satellite signal and its been this way for about 10 minutes. Can anyone help?

    Directv says they offer local channels in 97% of U.S. homes and my area is really in the 3% that doesn't?! I live in Nebraska.
