Austin, TX HD locals -- need 2 dishes?

Well the Dish installer is coming out today to install our second dish for locals. I didn't want to do the contract, though, in case things change in the future, so it was $60 for it.

Austin, TX HD locals -- need 2 dishes?

Rats, I just tried this... I thought that all was going smoothly until I asked them to activate the new locals, and they said I needed a new dish to do that. They are not sure which one I need, though. They said that the system prompted it? (with the online chat now)

Austin, TX HD locals -- need 2 dishes?

I've never really understood how to do that? Is this as simple as clicking "Point Dish" and changing the satellite that you're on (from 129 to 110)? If so, I tried that... doesn't seem to stick to 110, but instead goes back to 129... Not sure if I'm doing it right. (probably not)

Man, that's discouraging. Does anyone know if they're "really" HD channels? I mean... I've heard of them being crappy quality.

    made the call

Reading this post, I keep hearing things like: What's the problem with the DVR? We have Dish... go them over Direc because of the price (in the beginning). Now we're pretty much counting the days until our 24 month contract expires (August 2009) We signed up in August 2007, only to discover...

Austin, TX HD locals -- need 2 dishes?

Question: We get Austin, TX locals, and until recently Dish has told us that they did not broadcast the Austin, TX locals in HD (even though we pay for them). A few weeks ago I received an e-mail from Dish stating that the Austin, TX locals were now available in HD and to call to receive them...
