Anyone use a pair of 1.2m (Alaska/Hawaii) dishes

1.2 m Alaska/Hawaii dish I live in southeast Texas and also have annoying problems with rain fade. I bought a 1.2 meter Alaska/Hawaii DirecTv dish from The Satellite Shop, and greatly improved the situation. Now, instead of outages that last tens of minutes, they only last a minute or two on...

How can I eliminate signal loss in rain?

OK, looks like I have created some confusion. Sorry about that. I have two dishes, a Slimline 5 with a 5lnb and an Alaska Hawaii dish with the 3lnb for 99/101/and 103 satellites. I have one receiver, an HR23, with two tuners ( I should have used the word "tuner" and not "receiver"...

How can I eliminate signal loss in rain?

My Alaska/Hawaii LNB is not a SWM. I'm only using one HR23 receiver and the setup I have works just fine for now. Unless DirecTv expands and makes things more complicated I will stay with what I have as long as it works.

How can I eliminate signal loss in rain?

How can I eliminate signal loss in rain?

I also have a problem with rain fade in southeast Texas. I installed a 1.2 meter Alaska "Bigfoot" dish with a sl3 lnb for 99, 101, and 103 but I still get rain fade although it's not near as bad (lasts for only a minute or two instead of tens of minutes). I guess I'll try a 3 meter dish next.

One change you'd make to the D* receiver

I agree. The autotune would be nice to have on the HR-xx receivers similar to the H-xx receivers.

    XM Channels now gone :(

Glad XM is Replaced With No DJ Chatter! I enjoyed XM music but I was sick of DJ's booming voice coming in over my speakers between selections with banal chatter. Good riddence! Thank you DirecTV for making the change.
