PIP - DoublePlay - Football - How to Switch Programs in PIP

Thanks all, for me I only use PIP when watching live. I also like the side by side view (something Dish didn't have). Now that I know the down button is used for PIP switching, I'm set. I do find it a little confusing on sometimes getting the right programming configured in PIP, sometimes I end...

HR44 - Can I used Ethernet? DIRECTV Says No

I certainly don't treat my home network like a domain network, but I also don't use UPnP for port forwarding, so I need to rely on manual forwarding. That said, the IP/Mac reservation was causing an issue. I believe it to be defective in the GenieGo more than the router as I have many devices...

PIP - DoublePlay - Football - How to Switch Programs in PIP

Thanks, that worked perfectly. I'm not really understanding what Double Play does, and I can't seem to get it to work, but the down arrow definitely solves the PIP problem. Can you advise what Double Play is and how/when to use it over PIP? Thanks again!

How to Watch Live TV from my PC (Placeshift)?

I just switched from Dish to DirecTV, and I'm having some buyer's remorse already. The DVR technology is way further behind with DirecTV. Hopper, channel skipping, Sling, etc. all seem to be more polished. That said, I was talking to DirecTV support and was trying to figure out how to watch...

HR44 - Can I used Ethernet? DIRECTV Says No

Ok, so I hard wired my HR44, then used the coax and splitter for the GenieGo (no Ethernet there). I gave my GenieGo a static IP via manual MAC address DHCP reservation and then forwarded 8082-8083. It was all working for a little while, but now my Genie regularly says Not Connected when using my...

HR44 - Can I used Ethernet? DIRECTV Says No

Nope, not what I'm talking about. I just wanted to know if I could connect my Genie via hard wire, which it seems I can.

PIP - DoublePlay - Football - How to Switch Programs in PIP

I'm blown away that I can't figure out how to use PIP or DoublePlay on my HR44 to accomplish a trivial thing. First, I want one game in PIP and one game in main frame. I want to easily and frequently switch between the two. On Dish network, I would select one channel, then select the other...

HR44 - Can I used Ethernet? DIRECTV Says No

This is consistent with what they said, it can cause problems with the whole-home thing. However, in my case it didn't seem to cause any issues. Can anyone confirm the validity of this?

HR44 - Can I used Ethernet? DIRECTV Says No

My HR44 is installed right next to my Wireless Router. I was told by the installer and an online DIRECTV support person that I could not use hard wired Ethernet to my router and that I must wirelessly connect the HR44 to the router. I did hard wire it initially and it worked, but I heeded the...

HR44 RF Remote that Controls AV Receiver

Bummer, I guess I'll just leave the receiver on 24/7 which seems unnecessary and will also break my triggers which turn my amp off. Maybe I'll just leave the Pioneer Elite receiver remote nearby and use two remotes, not the end of the world. Thanks all for confirming.

HR44 RF Remote that Controls AV Receiver

I just got an HR44 and I'm upset that unlike past DIRECTV and Dish network remotes, it will not turn my AVR on or off. It does control the volume, so now I must unnecessarily leave my AVR on for maximum convenience. I was going to get an RC66 remote, but I learned they don't work with HR44...

    Wireless Joey without Dish WAP

That makes sense. As someone from the industry, I doubt they are using any proprietary connection method. Why re-invent the wheel, why not just use WPS. I'm sure Echostar is OEM'ing this equipment from another maker. 802.11ac is 5 Ghz only, but many chipsets also cover 2.4 GHz hence my...

    Wireless Joey without Dish WAP

I guess my issue is it seems redundant to have two separate 11ac networks operating in my home. I'd have to make sure they weren't stepping on each other's channels, etc. Do you know if the WAP is configurable as to which channel it uses? Can you disable the 2.4 band altogether, etc?

    Wireless Joey without Dish WAP

Thanks all. I have various 11ac 3x3 Ethernet to Wireless Bridge clients, could I use those with a regular Joey? That would be Ethernet into a Joey and I'll handle the Wi-Fi connection? This assumes a regular Joey can stream over a Wired network? If not, is this the Wi-Fi adapter? Is there an...

    Wireless Joey without Dish WAP

Hi all, I've got a long-term visitor coming in, and I plan to buy a Wireless Joey from Amazon or eBay. I also want the wireless one so I can move it around and use it outside from time to time during BBQs, etc. I called Dish, but they want an installation tech to come out and it costs quite a...

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

No I meant all my remotes are RC64RBs, my memory was wrong.

Oops, I do have RC64RBs, sorry.

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

Actually the black box is a power inserter and it's required for the slimline dish or something like that. It is definitely not a BBC.

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

Yes I got one new remote with the new receiver; it looks exactly the same. Is there an easy way to tell what model they are?

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

Actually my thing is called a DirecTV Power Inserter.

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

FYI, I've noticed no problems or degradation (even with HD) with that box in. The installer clearly saw it and didn't advise against it.

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

Yes I already reprogrammed the remotes in the menu you speak of. I programmed the remotes with the new ID from the receiver; they definitely work in RF mode, but not as well as the previous HR22. As far as b-band, I still have this black box hooked up before my receiver. I assumed it was a...

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

Libra, yes the remotes are in RF mode. There's no way they'd work at all in my configuration if they weren't. Also, all remotes have fresh batteries (have already checked that). I have not turned off the b-band converters. How do I do that? Thanks

Replaced HR22 with HR23 and now RC24 RF remotes perform poorly

My HR22 bit the dust (constant crashing) and DirecTV replaced it with an HR23. However, now my three RC24 RF remotes have severely reduced range. I used to be able to use them anywhere in my bedroom or office. Now I have to deliberately point the remotes towards the room with the HR23 and...

HR22 Freezes and Crashes (Brand New)

My DTV HR22 receiver constantly stutters/jitters (with artifacts and often audio distortion) during playback, often bad enough that it makes watching things unbearable. Twice after severe stuttering the receiver has completely crashed and shut off forcing a red button restart. It's aggravating...
