The 722 does not have the software to use this remote to remember the timers yet. They say soon but do not hold your breath

The new remote will not transfer timers from the 622 or 722 at this time, the software is not available yet for them. It will only work on the 722K or 222K that they come with. We are hearing they were going to upgrade the 722 and 622 soon but has not happened yet.

Ext is for recording to other devices, not the EHD. That is not an option at this time on the 622 or 722

I transfer 3-5 recordings at a time at night and I shut the receiver off/standby mode and everything is fine. Been doing this for several weeks now as i am pretty far behind on watching my shows.

You need to give us more info. what dish do you have. If it is a dish 500 you need to run another line from the dish. You can not put a splitter on the coax from the dish for a second receiver.

I agree. This is correct. Since you had 2 lines going to the receiver and ran check switch it seen that. when you use the separator you have to rerun the check switch again so it will see the separator.

since you did not say might not apply but if you have a 211K receiver you can add a EHD to it and turn it into a DVR also. On this unit you are recording to the EHD. You can not swap hard drives between this model and the 612 or 722 though
