    Subscription ending ??

That "subscription ending" only applies to updates. The software will keep working (assuming it works now), but you won't be eligible for updated software in the future. Of course, there won't be updated software in the future, so it's just one more nagging annoyance "feature" of the software.

    Subscription ending ??

The problem is that the long term customers relied on a regular process that automatically renewed/extended their license when the expiration approached. I'm not so sure we can count on that process anymore.

OK, thanks for clearing that up.

    Can't get updated Channel Lineup

I don't think the channel list is stored, I think it is downloaded every time the radio turns on. From what I have seen, it still takes a while to populate the list after start up, although it can always quickly pull information about the current channel.

    Illegality or a simple buyout?

In case you aren't being sarcastic, its the Recording Industry Association of America - you know, the group that sues it's customers rather than come up with a viable business model for the future.

TimeTrax for a while, but wanting to add XM PCR

Hopefully they will have the grace (and brains) to open it up not just to not need the servers, but also not to need the radio ID.

TimeTrax for a while, but wanting to add XM PCR

TimeTrax's registration is tied to a specific radio ID. If you didn't have the radio when you activated TimeTrax, then you can't use it with TimeTrax.

    Contact from TimeTrax!

You would think, even on vacation, that the president of the company could pick up a phone and tell an underling to "get it done", whatever "it" is. Especially if this is something that wasn't in the works before he went on vacation.

    Illegality or a simple buyout?

The funny thing is that in the early 1990's, the RIAA pushed a law through that dealt with home recording rights. They promised, outright, that they would NEVER sue someone for producing a product that allows the home recording of radio. Period.

    Illegality or a simple buyout?

Actually, Sirius is the only satellite radio provider that had an agreement that covered the recording features of their players. The RIAA is actually sueing XM for their recording players. XM put those controls on the recorders hoping to prevent the RIAA from sueing, and these controls...

    Statement on TimeTrax Forum Status

If TimeTrax is truely gone, please consider reinstating _all_ of the deleted posts, back to day 1. There were many posts deleted based upon their questioning and or bucking TimeTrax's reputation and authority, and it would be nice to have the complete record reinstated. Thanks!

    Problem getting an activation code

While I have no experience with their "Send Activation Key" feature, it is not uncommon for spam filters, either in your client or at your ISP/Email host, to miscategorize software activation notices. I've seen it happen for many, many products, and the smaller outfits seem to get hit worse than...

Are you sure that HT is enabled? Some systems come with it shut off. Just trying to make sure we have all the facts.

    Song Change Delay

Because when it did that, it would lose the front end of the next song. They haven't designed it to record a single audio stream twice (i.e. start the new recording before the old one stops).

    XMPCR - VIA stereo receiver

You can either split the signal from the XM reciever, or run the line out of your soundcard into your reciever.

    Song Change Delay

There's no really good answer to this one, and no answer at all that works for all stations. The problem is that XM doesn't send a clear "end of song/beginning of song" signal - they just send new artist/title/genre data at a time that is roughly at the track change (actually, just a hair early...

    Lost the 'right' channel

In general, computer sound cards don't support mics that require "phantom" power. I'm not even sure that there are pro sound cards that supply phantom power to mics. Your sound card didn't damage the XM Direct, unless there was a power surge, which probably would have taken out the sound card...

    CarPC implementation

Just curious - how does this "Carputer" version manage to connect back to the TimeTrax servers to ensure that it is validly licensed? And the deleted message said "No", as in there is no timetrax API that is available to the general public. Is that incorrect?

is it worth it for internet streaming music?

Not very good. Have you listened to the actual stream yet? That's as good as it can get. If you find the stream to be acceptable, just make sure you record at a slightly higher bitrate than the original stream. This will help (but not prevent) additional distortions due to the re-encoding into...

    Rollback an updated version?

PN has been banned from this forum, so he can not help you at this time. I have also recieved information that TT doesn't want other people to distribute older versions of their software, so that is an issue as well.

TimeTrax Recast shuts down if I am not connected to the Internet

Timetrax is afraid of pirates. Timetrax implemented regular "phone home" connections (~ every 20 minutes) to verify that you aren't a pirate. If your connection is bad, or TimeTrax's servers are down, or your firewall blocks the traffic, or the internet between you and them is experiencing...

    Latest Version - 1.6 - Released

Well, I pulled my XM Direct out of the car to test 1.6, and within 30 minutes of starting it my system blue-screened. Still a no-go on a reliability front. Maybe next time.

How to find a particular artist.

You can use the Grab List, but it's kind of brain dead. Instead of "Grab this artist whenever it comes up", it is actually "Only record songs by this artist, no matter what". This means that if the grab list is enabled, ONLY items that match what is on the grab list get recorded, even if you try...

    Version 1.5 Specific Thread

I did. One day I ran it and it didn't have any trouble. The next day I ran it it blue-screened my system, just like every previous version of Recast has done. That's the point at which I stop running a program. Frankly, Recast is no longer an integral part of my usage. It is wasted money for me...
