    522 Recording

I had a 522 connected to only a single Sat feed for a few weeks and it just worked fine. Just don't expect PIP or multi-tuner/Recorder type functions to work. FYI - I don't believe that setting the 522 to Single MODE will do anything for you with only the one Sat input. I'll assume that...

    522 for Regular Customers

Nice Chad -- you're a real piece of work pal. !sadroll The man basically asked if existing customers could get a purchased 522 activated on their account. I'm pretty sure enough people have posted both here and in other topics to prove that the answer to the mans question is yes...

    522 for Regular Customers

I have 4 separate receivers activated on my account right now, 2 of which have dual tuners (322/522). But - I also own all my receivers. I have no idea what restrictions they have on lease customers.

    DVR fee

If the 921 was your only receiver, then no, you wouldn't have to pay an "extra receiver fee. I don't pay a VOD fee because I have AEP, so I suspect if you had it you wouldn't either.

While Dish is hacking away at the code...

Why buy a sports car that goes over 150mph or a 4x4 when you live in downtown LA? That was silly Kevin. If two inputs were required for it to function, then it wouldn't work with only one. Simply make the testing match the functionality in use...that too hard?

    522 for Regular Customers

Yes, many of us have went through this ordeal with Dish tier 1 support, and to be fair, it's really not their fault. We new x22 "owners" are asking for something that they can't authorize because of the system. I couldn't agree more about your statement concerning the folks in the Executive...

While Dish is hacking away at the code...

I haven't ran across a wishlist or I would have posted this there.... A customer will sometimes set up their dual tuner receiver with just a single input from the dish. As part of the setup the user should be able to declare the other input (say SAT2) "unused", and no periodic or daily...

    newb 522 install question

What they said as far as hook up and quality. Clarification for PiP - You do not need a second output to your TV (any TV) to use PiP. Just make sure you have both SAT1 and SAT2 inputs to your 522, then using the MODE switch on the front panel of the DVR select "Single." When you select...

    Caller ID

Problem is there with the Southwest Bell unit connected to a 322 too. With caller ID on, phone rings once and hangs up on caller. Turn off caller ID and phone/322 all happy.

    522 for Regular Customers

Check the other 522 activation topics for the actual details for getting one activated -- but short answer here is yes they will.

    522 Authorization

Frankly the "break even" point wasn't a consideration for me, as I needed to add a couple of units to my house anyway. The last receiver I bought was year ago, a new 301 for ~$130 from my local Dish retailer. So my frame of reference going into the upgrade was the $130 bucks for a plain Jane...

    522 Authorization

Ran across a website that had them MSRP of $399.95 for the 522, but they didn't actually sell them -- lease only. I believe the 522 replacement cost from the contract is probably a better indicator of value, and that's $300. But 50% or 66%, the point was that as an existing customer I couldn't...

    Moving to new room

Like the man said above, you'll need another dedicated run of cable from the new room to the dish. If it was cable before, it's probably RG-59 and may have splitters installed. Best bet is to have someone come out and replace that with RG-6. Do you have Dishpro stuff, a legacy 500 or 300...

    522 Authorization

I bought the 522 because I got it for 50% off. I don't want to pay a monthly lease fee and if it lasts for 4-5 years then I'm money ahead anyway. But that's why they make different products and packages so people can choose what appeals to them. ;)

522 with only one dish feed

Roller I believe is assuming that the connection was to SAT1 input. If you hook up the single input to SAT2 and do a check switch, all diagnostics will step through and the program will eventually download and the box will update. Then you can hook the single input back to SAT 1 and do a check...

    522 Authorization

Uhhh, I would doubt that they can make you turn in a receiver you own -- just imagine the lawsuits over that one! There are a lot of the x22 boxes available on ebay and such. Before you buy one, make the seller give you the receiver and smart card numbers off the box. The CS person...

Anyone use 522 to pay their bill?

Paying your bill via the receiver and a credit card is an old feature that long pre-dates the 522. But to answer your question, Yes I've used it a few times, but I prefer paying online.

    522 Authorization

Like I said, write the CEO a 3 line email and you can have it added that day. Or you can wait until Jan-Jun...it's all about how bad you want it I guess.

    DVR-522 HD Replacement

Has anyone replaced their HD yet, and if so what are the "gotchas"?

    522 Authorization

Bump. Agreed... Dish CS can run the numbers to make sure it's a clean box, but only theExec office can add it to an existing account. As stated above, write to CEO@dishnetwork.com and you can get it turned on in no time. :)

Existing customer opening new account to get a 522?

I just activated both a DVR-522 and a 322 tht I bought off of Ebay tonight. It took a letter to CEO@dishnetwork.com as stated in a couple of threads around here, but I was contacted by someone very helpful within 4 hours of sending my letter. The guy that helped me was awesome and i really...
