The advance they made that improves signal quality was a simple software feature used during activation. Technicians must achieve a set threshhold to activate the box. Fewer dishes pointed half-assed.
Jimbo, many of us working as contractors are "the company". Nobody provides us with materials, insurance, fuel, etc. .I charge 75 for a properly installed pole with concrete and 20 ft of burial. I believe that is a fair price.
The swim 16 has swm and legacy ports. You need to run the two splitters off the swm outputs. It is a partitioned switch and each swm out supports up to 8 tuners. Your genie uses 5 by itself. Your hr24's use 2 each. I would hook up all hr24's on one 8way and the 34 on the remaining 8way.
The receivers alternate between 13 and 18 volts on their own to change lnb polarity depending on what transponder it needs to pull to get your channel. If you are only pulling AFN , you should be ok.
We didn't always make crap money. Alot of us have thousands of dollars and alot of time invested in the industry. Those of us that started 10 or more years ago are making less than half of what we started at while working the same amount of time or more.
Wow, eq rental, conduit , labor. That would be like a $500 dollar pole mount. Sounds like it would last forever but getting a less informed custy to part with $75.00 can be a chore. Very informative butr far beyond reasonable.
Holy over-thinking the problem!! Drill one
- 3/8'' hole through the entire assembly where it attaches to the pole. Add one 4" shackle Master Lock. Done deal.
Just finished reading other posts. I over-thunk it too. J-B-Weld would be my revised answer. Great thinkin'.
Brad, if you don't mind spending the money, buy a 612 ird for one of the rooms. It is a dual tuner meant for connection to one room so you can watch and record seperate shows.
