Hopper+ - Freezes Live TV when TV powered on when HDR is turned on

This problem had been fixed with the Hopper Plus software that came out after P12407 in the P124xx series and remains fixed in P12506 and P12509 so it no longer freezes when the TV is turned on while the Hopper 3/Hopper Plus are still turned on.

Hopper 3 setup with Joey Plus issue

I figured out how to force the update as well as putting the Hopper in Standby. Only posting this as I have not read the forums since November-December 2023. The lag no longer exists I think and when powering on the TV, it no longer pauses the live feed when the Hopper 3/Hopper+ are powered on...

Hopper+ - Freezes Live TV when TV powered on when HDR is turned on

For me, it's the Hopper+ because the problem only happened when I had the Hopper+ connected which was a few days at the end of May 2023 when the Hopper+ was installed. It doesn't happen when the Hopper+ is disconnected and removed from the equation so only the TV was directly connected to the...

Hopper+ - Freezes Live TV when TV powered on when HDR is turned on

On my Hopper 3 (software H367) with Hopper+ (software P12407) - whenever I turned on the TV (LG 65EF9500 3D OLED) regardless if it's from the front panel or with any remote (DISH, Amazon Firestick, XFinity) - the live tv will completely freeze at the same time the TV shows HDR On so it appears...

    loss of service

Only bad thing is didn't they add new holes for Directv for mounting the new Directv dish and also keeping it there without Directv service. The other thing is wouldn't she still be under contract with Directv now?

That's true too and hopefully it's only bad superblock(s) and nothing severe.

    Anything new in H367?

That one is a false alarm as in one part of the video for a brief one minute near the end, it shows DISH with a message that they are sorry for the interruption for service, they are aware of the issue and will get things working as fast as possible.

External hard drive now not recognized by 722k

Larger will work but the model which is for the external product as a whole will not be the same even if it was the same capacity as they can use different model drives internally and also the SATA to USB bridge used needs to be compatible. That is why I suggested to buy from somewhere that has...

External hard drive now not recognized by 722k

Yes, that's true but the problem is not knowing the technical level of the OP with Linux, the cloning is more to see if it's the HDD that is the issue or not as even in my case with a HDD that worked on the Hopper 1 but not the Hopper 3, the issue was not the HDD as both the original and clone...

External hard drive now not recognized by 722k

Easiest way is to find another drive of the same capacity from a vendor like target where you have 30 days to return and since it's the holidays, the 30 days don't start counting until December 25, 2023. Then connect the new drive to the 722k and let it format and see if you can record to it or...

    Anything new in H367?

I noticed yesterday, one recording which was for yesterday monring when played back did not show any audio and video even as I forward and skipped through it to the end, thankfully the same content is recorded three times a day and the other two came out fine even though the 2nd one was in two...

    Anything new in H367?

Just wanted to report that the nightly resets at 1:18AM Pacific Time didn't get H367 but a manual upgrade check at 3:30AM apparently did. Haven't had time to analyze H367 yet.

    newbie Hopper 3 internet question

Ethernet is always better but nothing wrong with WiFi either As far as Internet speeds are concern, download is only one part of the equation as each package has a different upload speed which is what will matter more with things like DISH Anywhere as well as internet video doorbells and...

Cutters Q&A: Sling VP on Why You Can’t Just Move DISH Customers Over to Sling TV

I would have thought Sprint would have sold both the Boost network as well as the physical connections. Would be easier to tell if someone using Boost Infinite and connected to DISH's network could do some traceroutes but that will still only show the IP side of things, still wouldn't show who...

Cutters Q&A: Sling VP on Why You Can’t Just Move DISH Customers Over to Sling TV

Pretty much Comcast, Spectrum/Charter, AT&T, Verizon all own their own internet backbone so they can easily undercut both Charlie and Netflix, neither which own backbones but ofcourse there has to be a backbone somewhere for Charle's 5G network to connect to each other.

Cutters Q&A: Sling VP on Why You Can’t Just Move DISH Customers Over to Sling TV

Exactly but the traditional carriers need to exist because remember it's not good when the competition is gone as you don't have anyone to set the prices to compete and then the streaming providers can set high prices which will be the referenced standard so let's assume...

Cutters Q&A: Sling VP on Why You Can’t Just Move DISH Customers Over to Sling TV

No data cap is only in the Northeast. The only way you can get no data cap is when you pay for xFi Complete which is $24.99 a month which is really adding unlimited bandwidth and the modem rental to whatever internet package you have. xFi Advantage also no longer exists and is replaced by xFi...

Cutters Q&A: Sling VP on Why You Can’t Just Move DISH Customers Over to Sling TV

Depends since some internet like mines from Comcast is capped and the Ring Doorbell system would already use most of the uploading bandwidth otherwise I wouldn't have needed to upgrade from 6Mbps/768kbps ADSL as everytime the Ring doorbell record, it would basically make internet unavailable for...

    eSata/usb questions for Hopper 3

Answers to your question(s): 1) No, it has to be recorded to the Hopper 3 first and then moved to the external drive. Also, folders cannot be transferred as it will not have a folder when it's transferred while series folders, the one where one title has multiple episodes can be transferred...

Cutters Q&A: Sling VP on Why You Can’t Just Move DISH Customers Over to Sling TV

Ofcourse but that is already factored in as streaming companies also use CDN's but if the streaming costs the same as something that has the transport, then the streaming would be more expensive once you add in the internet connection to it. So if you were paying $100 for DISH via Satellite...

Cutters Q&A: Sling VP on Why You Can’t Just Move DISH Customers Over to Sling TV

I would think the over satellite should be the current pricing and Sling via Internet should be less as the former includes the transport while the later, you need to bring your own connection for transmission so should be less as it only provides the content but not the physical feed.
