    Dish getting pricey

So, what is the best way to complain to Dish about this stuff? I spoke with a representative regarding my bill a while back and she basically told me the terms had changed, that they hadn't raised prices in two years, that a price increase was due, they were no longer giving me a receiver...

    Dish getting pricey

More $$$, Less Channels! So, I signed up for Dish in November. Since that time, my bill has slowly increased every month (and this doesn't include my promotions wearing off). Within just a few months, my channel package has gone from $51.99 to $54.99. My receiver fee has probably doubled...

    HD Picture Quality

I have a $3,500.00 t.v. and just got rid of Cox Cable and lost all of my DVR'd movies and programs thinking that Dish was going to give me comparable HD quality and it doesn't. It didn't even cross my mind that the HD compression would be terrible compared to Cox. I actually thought that Dish...

Best way to get HD on TV2

It sounds like you need to get another receiver for your new t.v. You might do a forum search...this sounds like something that has come up before.

quick newbie q about 2nd tv

I have a standard 16:9 aspect 720p LCD as TV2. Without doing anything the aspect ratio stays perfect...I get wide screen (not stretched) in SD on TV2. It's great...a really nice and unexpected feature. I did not have to change any of the "format" setting on the receiver and I have no black bars.

    MSNBC HD

Channel 209. I'm watching it now. It's great! I have the Classic Silver package w/ HD.

    HD Picture Quality

That is totally not true. Blu-ray quality at any distance is noticeable and looks fantastic. Blu-ray completely kills Dish PQ (obviously, it should since the compression is much better and it is 1080p). Even Cox cable is clearly better than Dish. I did a side by side comparison while I still...

    HD Picture Quality

Thanks man. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound short with you in that last post. Anyway, it looks like a lot of people are unhappy with the MPEG compression quality, macroblocking and noise. I guess I can live with the lower PQ, but I just want to make sure there isn't anything wrong with my...

    HD Picture Quality

The receiver is and has been set to 1080i all along. WITH REGARD TO THE PRIOR POST: I'm about 10-12 feet away from my tv...which is a little close, but not too close. I think I had a pretty good installer. He really took a lot of time hooking up 4 rooms for me with 2 receivers. He had Dish...

A few questions before I commit...

I just joined Dish about a month ago. I went ahead and got a 722k instead of waiting for the 922. The 722k is great. Browsing channels works well and the DVR has lots of recording options (more than I was used to with Cox cable). My only disappointment is the overall HD quality. Dish HD...

    HD Picture Quality

I just switched to Dish about a month ago from Cox in the San Diego area. I've got to say that Dish's picture quality does not match what I used to have on Cox. The HD looks very compressed and varies as everyone has been describing in this thread. There are times when the PQ is good, but the...

Maybe new to Dish, should I wait for 922?

Wait for the 922? Thanks for the input everyone. I'm in the same boat. I am about ready to jump ship from Cox cable. As much as I would like the 922, I will probably just go with a 722k. My only thought is that maybe I should wait a couple of weeks for a new promo. Does anyone know if a...
