    dvb world dvb-s2

Switch operation functions okay, it's the motor function that I was having problems with. But I think I found the answer. The DVBWorld software apparently only does USALS and will not save a sat position using DiseqC 1.2 to move the dish. I was also told that you have to go into sat config and...

    dvb world dvb-s2

I just bought this Dvb World PCI 2004D card from sadoun. Using the latest version of software downloaded from sadoun site, I entered my dish, lnb, and switch settings. Scanned AMC 1 and got Pentagon channel. After that, it wouldn't lock on any other sat. The motor functions don't seem to work...

Can somebody please direct me to a thread or somewhere that explains how to setup the pci2004d. I've spent all day messing with this thing and just don't understand it. I'm ready to pull my hair out. Thanks.

    Free HD for Life?

DISH lives by the motto "Keep the customer confused." Their billing practices are as bad as the phone company's. I'll bet if satellite tv had been around back when they first started broadcasting in color, DISH would have charged you an additional fee for that too, plus charge you $100 to...

need help! finally started my install.no success

Sounds to me like you are blind scanning sats. First, you should find a strong TP in The List for sat you want to scan and use only that TP for initial setup. Also, I found that if your motor shaft has even slight play in it, it can throw off USALS 1-2 degrees. That's why my USALS has never...

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

I think you missed the part where stanleyjohn says "run two cables to a manual switch." That would work except for what you said about not being able to setup individual sat lnb settings in motorized mode. That's as bad of a bug as the switch/motor issue. These are fundamental functions that you...

Reviews: SatHawk PVR800 WorldDVB DVB-S2 HD FTA Receiver

Went to that post and it says "Its not linux its an RTOS". However, there is a linux-based RTOS called RTLinux. According to wiki, "RTLinux or RTCore is a hard realtime RTOS microkernel that runs the entire Linux operating system as a fully preemptive process. More info than I care to read on...

    Dish Network clobbers Pansat

First the pirates, then charlie's coming after you the legit fta hobbyist. These cases are beginning to set some really bad legal precedence that don't bode well for the fta community. I don't know where these defendant companies are getting their lawyers, but they apparently aren't very good...

    motor woes

It worked for me using a Fortec Star 90cm dish. Maybe the manual's way works for others. It didn't work for me. My formula could be a fluke that just happened to work in my case. Sorry it didn't help you.

HELP WANTED! One good linux programmer. This sounds like a great receiver that just needs a few software tweaks. Surely there's one person in this hobby on this side of the globe that can fix linux code. Just one ... anybody?

I've only been at this hobby about a year, but sloppy coding seems to be a recurring theme in fta receivers. It appears to me that there's a disconnect between the needs of fta hobbyists on one side of the planet and the Asian receiver manufacturers on the other side. I think many of them became...

    motor woes

I know the declination instructions for my SG2100 motor were confusing and not worth the paper they were printed on. I finally figured it out. You set the latitude on the motor, initially align dish parallel with the motor shaft, then tweak dish elevation to get proper declination. Simple rule...

Is USALS compensation possible - off ~2 degrees?

Yes, this pretty much describes my situation. I use the QPH-031, which is a heavy lnb. Also what Lak7 said about a heavy dish. I use a Fortec Star 90P dish and the lnb arm doesn't have supporting struts. The lnb arm is fairly rigid, but I used the original roof-mount post that came with the...

Is USALS compensation possible - off ~2 degrees?

I have a similar problem with my sg2100 setup with a 36" dish, Invacom Quad LNB and Captive Works CW700s receiver. I hit every bird in the arc from 61.5W to 125W, but 89W is the only sat I hit dead on with USALS. As I go west, USALS gradually drifts off farther west so by the time I get to 125W...
