Just a quick update for those who are interested. I installed the 30" dish yesterday and am now getting signal strengths of low 80's to 100 on most transponders. My lowest reading is a 69. Thanks again for the feedback.

Also, since this appears to be my only option, I might as well go with the 30" and hope for the best. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to buy just the 30" dish? I assume I can use my existing LNB as long as the new dish has a rectangular LNB mount?

Not since I got the replacement 5800. I was getting the same results with the new LNB I bought so I returned it.

There is no switch. I'm using a single dual-LNB.

Actually they do, but since the the arm that the LNB attaches to is shorter, I'm not sure it would be positioned at the correct focal point for the new pan. I think I'll leave well enough alone. Thanks for the feedback.

Could I possibly just swap the dish and leave the existing lnb which is not offset or does the LNB need to be further from the dish?

My 5800 is definitely in need of repair. I've tried it with both the old card and the new card, various cables and after rebooting numerous times. It just freezez trying to aquire satellite signal. I can't even check signal strength or get to the info page.

I'd be happy with a refurbished unit if I could walk in and swap it right away. I'm driving up in Wed. and back on Sat. If I have to leave it with them I probably won't be able to pick it up for at least a couple of months.

Do you mean by unplugging them for at least 1/2 hour? I've tried that several times but no change.

Actually, the run from the dish to where I connected to the RG59 is only about 50' but the RG59 runs along the side and back of the house before entering the basement and going to the receivers. The total length from dish to receivers is probably just over 100'.

I'm using a single RCA dual LNB. Should I just replace the RG59 section or should I run two new cables, without connectors, from the dish to the receivers?
