    Echostar to buy Hughes

He tried to buy D* a long time ago. Government said no. How Sirius and XM merged is foreign to me.

    Echostar to buy Hughes

The target market for the products is rural america. Not everyone in rural america can afford a $ 150 internet bill and I doubt a library is easily accessible in the boondocks. I worked hard to get where I am, multiple degrees and years of college and military. However, I do realize and...

    Echostar to buy Hughes

We pay for everything else. Might as well use my money for something useful to someone less fortunate than I.

DISH Network and Echostar Statement Regarding PTO Ruling

I completely agree. Why would Google buy an outdated sinking ship? Ok, cool, they can save it from sinking, but what use is it after that? I can rebuild a Ford Pinto, but after I put all that money into it I realized I just got done spending all this money to polish a turd. Riddle me this...

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

Obviously, you don't know a lot about stocks. 41% drop is extremely bad.

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

This is what also baffles me. If "I did" work for Dish, E*, or Tivo, I couldn't say so on a message board because the wrong comment could start all kinds of fires. Thinking that Tivo is paying big bucks for high end lawyers, why would they troll satelliteguys steadily throughout the day (not...

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

Ok $5 million. Thank you for the correction. Yet the overall point of that statement remains valid.

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

Ok, I'll withdraw that characterization. But with that I will ask, how much cash on hand does TivO have? What is it's operating costs? And if they lost a significant amount of subs from the STB business, could the other ventures hold up the company?

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

I didn't say Dish stock. I said Echostar stock which would be buying TiVO if anything and is the competitor to TIVO. Even though E* has limited it's liability to $100 million I believe, it would be impacted just as greatly as Dish would.

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

I agree completely. That's why I think the stamp of "TiVO powered or With TivO technology" on the STB's and the loss of lawsuits would be the biggest gains out of the whole deal.

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

But if your revenue is shrinking, source of income is dwindling (because of loss os subs), then isn't suffocation a form of death?

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

That stuff is great on paper, but when your on a sinking boat you don't necessarily get to pick the terms of your surrender. What I mean by that is, if I'm on TiVOs board and we have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel, I'd vote to scratch that poison pill stuff to recoup some...

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

I believe they would appeal of course. But time is ultimately against TIVO on many levels. Patents running out, losing money hand over fist, and over lawsuits lingering like vulchers ready to start picking at TiVOs bones. TiVO needs the court precedence and the money.

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

If TiVO DOES lose this review, then I think that would be the nail in the coffin for them. Strike up the band so they can play while the Titanic slowly sinks.
  15. Crazy_Legs

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

If TiVO filed new lawsuits then it would essentially be shooting themselves in the foot. The patent under question expires in 7 years I believe and this process has taken a lot longer than 7 years to get here. In all honesty, I'm not too sure that Charlie is trying to "win" so much as he is...

    Dish's en banc request APPROVED!

TiVO is down over $7.00, 40%. Obviously it's shareholders are not encouraged at all by this news or else they would just ride it out. A 40% slide in a stock over a press release about a REVIEW, not a final decision, tells me just how insecure TiVO investors are. Either this review will work...

Dish Faces April 30 Deadline In TiVo Case

Already have. Should have loaded up on TiVO months ago. :\ hindsight is always 20/20.

Dish Faces April 30 Deadline In TiVo Case

That isn't my concern at all. I'm looking at strategic maneuvering of the companies for stock and telecomm sector purposes. Really interested on how this is going to play out, for personal reasons.

Dish Faces April 30 Deadline In TiVo Case

I could have sworn Judge Folsom gave Dish until April 30th to disable all infringing DVR's.

Dish Faces April 30 Deadline In TiVo Case

Has E* already filed the Appeal? I heard them say they planned on it, but never saw anything stating they actually did.

Dish Faces April 30 Deadline In TiVo Case

LOL. True, but it seems like Judge Folsom is tired of Charlie dragging out the process. So come Monday morning I wouldn't be surprised if something wasn't on the wire. Honestly, the whole basis of the patent is ridiculous anyway. The dotcom boom really created gray areas with patents.

Dish Faces April 30 Deadline In TiVo Case

That's odd don't you think? Since tomorrow would be the drop dead date, I thought this thing would gain traction in SOME direction if they wanted to avoid further contempt of court litigation.

Dish Faces April 30 Deadline In TiVo Case

Since the April 30 deadline is tomorrow.. Has anyone heard anything definitive? I've been watching the stock prices for SATS and TIVO. TiVO still has its upward trend but SATS remains pretty much steady in its zone.
