What should I do to get the $40 DVR enable?

I currently have a vip222k serving HD to my family room and SD to my bedroom. I heard about the DVR upgrade but was shot down because the 222k is not compatible. So, here's the question, how should I approach this? Is the best route then to convert to 2 211k receivers and have one of them do...

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

Thanks Tyralak. Technician is coming out today and Dish ripped me a new one. HD dual tuner upgrade is free, but the technician visit is $15 and upgrading the dish is $100, 2 year contract. Tried many CSRs and all the tactics in the book, even threaten to cancel. They will not waive the $100...

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

I just called dish and talked with a couple of representatives. They say the HD receiver upgrade would be free (though they can't guarantee which receiver) but it'll cost $95 for the technician to upgrade new dishes. Does this sound right? Kab mentioned the dishes upgrade should be free. What...

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

Yeah, but at $75 + $30 remote I might as well buy a new set from ebay. So what do you guys think? $110 for 722 or $150 for 722k with OTA?

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

The craigslist 222 did not have remotes, so now I'm back to square one. Looks like 222 is going for about $110 and 222k for $150 with the OTA module. So with these receivers dish have to upgrade the round dish as well? Man, better not be another charge.

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Just a simple upgrade so I have HDMI for my Pioneer KRP-600M and a HD tuner combined into one box. Awesome.

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

I think so. If I simply deactivate the old 322 and activate new 222 (without HD programming), I should not be charged any additional fees and I can keep all the programming the same as is, right?

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

Thanks for the offer to help. This is what I have right now: 1 322 duo receiver 1 Classic Bronze (the cheapest one, 120 channels I think) + local Great wall package -- I want to change to 1 222 HD duo receiver Same basic Bronze (120) package, no local or HD. local hd provided by OTA Great...

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

Hmm... thanks for the info. I used to have a second 322 that I didn't have to pay for as long as I have a phone line hooked up to it. I guess that was because it was part of basepack too?

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

That's the thing, it's not an extra receiver. I'm replacing the only 322 receiver that I have in the house. Does Dish still charge if the first and only receiver is a HD receiver?

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

So that means it combines the OTA antenna coax with the TV2 out coax, then the upstairs TV uses its own HD tuner to interpret the local HD channels and watch dish TV2 on channel 60, is that right?

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

Ugh, I have to pay a receiver fee even if I have my own receiver? Yuck. Do I have to call dish to activate it? What's so special about the learning remote?

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

This post seem to suggest that it can be done. Although I'm confused by what he means in doing a reverse splitter. http://www.satelliteguys.us/1672414-post6.html In my current setup I think it's using a modulator to control the TV channels upstairs.

    Question regarding 222 vs 222k

I'm trying to decide whether to go for a 222 at a cheap price or 222k. Aside from the color difference, are there any PQ difference or things that will limit my set up? OTA: Just a simple HD coax antenna for local channels TV1: HDMI, would like to watch both OTA and Dish channels TV2...
