Hagerstown NBC 25 to come to DC subs

Navychop, what kind of OTA antenna do you use? I'm in Fairfax, near George Mason, and I get decent (70's) signal for the DC major's, nothing from Baltimore. Signals are significantly weaker in the fall. I currently have a decent size VHF/UHF in the attick. The OTA is diplex'ed with the satellite...

SlideShow on 622 - Not full screen??

I had the same problem, thought I would be seeing my pictures at full resolution, no such luck. I could not find any settings to change.

    DC Local HD quality

I'm on vacation. I have the DVR set for West Wing (NBC) and CSI: MIAMI (CBS). I'm curious to see if there has been an improvement, which would be excellent news....

    DC Local HD quality

They probably encode it at the station, so they would not be sending 19mb across country. I looked at several shows on the HD LIL last night and came to the conclusion that the channels that broadcast in 720p (Fox and ABC here in DC) look actually pretty good, but the channels in 1080i (NBC...

Thanks, I just put the question out on the DirecTV HD Forum.

PQ for Washington DC HD LIL

I just got the Dish Network 622 HD DVR installed, and noticed horrible picture quality on my HD LIL for Washington, DC, especially WRC (NBC). Some of the issues are trailing, 'disfigured' faces, lip synch and fuzziness. I was wondering if these problems are specific to Dish, or whether people...

    DC Local HD quality

Yep, was watching Law and Order SVU last night, flipping back between OTA and Dish HD LIL. That show has a lot of faces, so that issue made watching the HD LIL unbearable. Audio was out of synch too, but we'll put that to the HDMI issue and hope they fix that soon. I agree the real test...

    DC Local HD quality

I don't know the numbers, but they are the HD locals. I already had 2 dishes (one at 61.5) on my roof. The installer did not change anything on the dishes, he just plugged in the box. I could go the OTA route, but then I can only record one quality (OTA HD) channel at one time. Anyone...

    DC Local HD quality

I got my 622 installed yesterday and was shocked by the poor quality of the DC locals in HD, especially WRC (NBC). The picture was trailing, the inside of the faces of the people were moving different than the outline (same problem as on the old box in SD). The other 3 locals were a little bit...

One more question, I have only one receiver hooked up, do I turn the LNB power on or off (on the receiver menu)? Thanks.

    Telstar 5/ IA5

I am having trouble finding the intelsat 5. I'm looking for a FTA channel, bvn (dutch) that is on the following settings; TP 11, Freq 11.929, Sym 22,000, FEC 3/4, Vertical. I'm using a pansat 700HC receiver, Xtreme digital KU band single lnbf (0.3db), and a wineguard 30" dish. My zip code is...

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

I think you're right, some cablevision shareholders will sue that the VOOM business was sold too cheap, no matter what the price ends up being, this thing is far from being over...

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

I agree, with the focus on quarterly performance by Wall Street, it is hard for big corporations to build new companies/ventures that take a while to generate income. Look at Mike Armstrong at AT&T, he had the right vision of building a integrated communications company (wireless, cable, LD...

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

In this age of many boards getting sued over not doing their job, the board is not going to allow Charles to spend billions on his pet project. As much I would like for Voom to succeed, the DBS market is too mature. Don't forget D* and E* got all the low hanging fruit during the past ten...

A 'simple' OTA HD antenna solution?

I bought diplexers at Home Depot, about $15 a piece (you will need two, one on both ends). Radio Shack has them also, but for closer to $25. My set up works great, make sure you get diplexers (they will say sat on one out and tv/cable on the other one) not just regular splitters.

    Rainbow Spin-off is dead

From 'thestreet.com'; "A Voom-less Cablevision (CVC:NYSE - commentary - research) got a nod of approval from Wall Street Wednesday afternoon. CIBC World Markets upgraded the Long Island-based cable operator from a rating of sector underperformer to sector performer, citing Cablevision's...

    Rainbow Spin-off is dead

A couple of observations; the reason Rainbow signed the contract with Lockheed is that they have to meet certain milestones under FCC regulations or they lose the licenses to broadcast. The relatively low contract 'out' ($100M, just enough to keep the VOOM business attractive for a possible...
