UI upgrade has RUINED Hopper 1 usability

After 13 years with Dish, I switched to Playstation Vue instead of Dish 3 months ago and still love it. If you are really serious about it then why not give it a try? If you don't like it, you can come back to Dish in 6 months and get all the new customer perks.

    Dish Hopper 4???

Seriously, what additional features could they add to a Hopper 4? I feel like the Hopper 3 has reached a point where it has all the features necessary. Anything they add now would only appeal to a very small niche crowd and could hardly justify the cost.

DISH lost over 318,000 subs first quarter of 2017

All of these reasons are part of why I left. I just could not justify the overall cost any more and I was tired of paying for 200 channels I don't want. I switched to Playstation Vue three months ago and have not missed Dish yet.

Satellite dish model and cabling requirements

This! My original installer, 12 years ago, put my Dish halfway up my roof due to trees that were in the way. Every time a tech came out after that they did not want to work on the Dish and said that configuration is not supported. They said they dish should be mounted on the roof at the lowest...

What did The Dish loyalty department offer you to stay?

Yes. I was also a 13 year customer, paying $160 a month for AP250, HBO and 5 receivers.

What did The Dish loyalty department offer you to stay?

I was offered $40 off for 12 months and HBO free for 6 months.

    Return Box

So today another return box arrived. I already modified the first box and packed everything into it and was about to ship it back. Will it matter if I DON'T use the second box and return label? I am just wondering if they might be looking for both return labels to come back and if I only use...

    Return Box

I cancelled Dish and they sent me a box to return the equipment but they sent just one box to return 2 HWS and 2 Joeys. The box comes with plastic trays that are designed for 1 Hopper and multiple Joeys. Should I call Dish and ask for another box? Should I toss the plastic trays and just put on...

    Joey and two tvs

I had this whole debate for awhile. I was going to put a TV on my patio but did not want to pay seven dollars a month for a receiver. Ultimately, I decided not to put a TV on the patio because if the weather is nice enough to sit outside then I should enjoy the outdoors and not watch TV. Sent...

    Joey and two tvs

Absolutely. I guess it depends on how often you are using the outside TV. If you only want it to watch the occasional football game outside with friends then moving a wireless Joey back-and-forth might be your best bet. If you go back-and-forth between both TVs frequently then I would go with...

I've always been reasonably happy with Dish

Just cancelled mine and it was not too bad. I spent 3 minutes waiting to speak with somebody and another 14 minutes talking to a person. She tried to talk me out of cancelling but most of that time was “slow computers today”. I got offered $40 credit for 12 months and free HBO for 6 months in...

I've always been reasonably happy with Dish

I wonder if dish actually evaluates all the reasons for people canceling to see what changes they may consider in the future. If I thought they actually cared why I was leaving then I would gladly share that information. But if they are asking just so they can respond with a reason to stay then...

    Joey and two tvs

Getting a wireless Joey will be the best option but that cost money and there's a seven dollar a month fee. I am also curious how well the wireless Joey holds up to the weather on an outside patio. If you are totally fine with just mirroring what's on the Joey then getting an HDMI splitter and...

I've always been reasonably happy with Dish

I am about to make that same call for the same reason in the next few days. Just waiting on the rest of my new equipment to arrive. I will have to follow up with my experience.

Why does Netflix work so poorly?

Which device are you using with Netflix? Netflix on my Hopper 2 works fine. Netflix on my Joey 1.0 will act like you described. I have rebooted the Joey many times due to Netflix freezing up. It typically occurs when my wife finished watching something and just left Netflix on at the main menu.

Does Dish prorate when you cancel

Does Dish prorate your bill when you cancel? I recently discovered that cell phone companies don't. You can cancel one day into your billing cycle and they won't refund you a penny. I even had support reps that said they would prorate but that is not true. Just wondering if this is the same...

    Returning Dish Equipment

Really? How much does it cost to return a receiver? I have 2 HWS and 2 Joey 1.0 that are all leased. I also have a 211 that I own for my tailgater. Could I return everything but the 211 for free THEN cancel my service? Also, anybody had any problems with Dish claiming they did not receive a...

    Playstation Vue vs Dish

I signed up for Vue to try the service and bought a Roku to try the device. I might get a Fire TV to test it out and compare to the Roku for a month before I decide what to buy for the other 3 TVs in the house.

    Playstation Vue vs Dish

The fees are a big part of why I am looking at Playstation Vue. We have 4 TVs in the house and that adds a lot to the monthly bill.

    Playstation Vue vs Dish

I am thinking about getting Playstation Vue to replace Dish. Playstation Vue seems to offer all the channels I want, it supports up to 5 devices at the same time and has DVR capabilities all for only $35-$45/month. I am currently paying $160 so this is a huge savings. This seems almost too good...

    Selling my Tailgater

I plan to sell my tailgater and 211z receiver. Is there anything special I need to do to ensure that the new owner can easily activate the receiver on their account? I was planning to keep the receiver active for now so I can demo it but planned to immediately deactivate it once I sell it...

    HopperGo connect to TV

An HDMI adapter works?? I have tried streaming to my TV using Apple TV but get a message saying streaming is not allowed. If an HDMI adapter works then I'll definitely go that route. Sent from my iPhone using the SatelliteGuys app!

    HopperGo connect to TV

Is there any way to connect a HopperGo to a TV? I would like to use a HopperGo in my camper. Ideally there would be a way to either connect the HopperGo to the TV and then play back shows or stream shows from my phone to my TV from the HopperGo.

    Hopper 3 with VIP reciever

So does the Hopper 3 require a completely new Dish on the roof? If so, would the installers leave the current Dish if requested so I can keep it hooked up to the 211z?

    Hopper 3 with VIP reciever

I expected I could keep it on the account but I am asking if there is a way to hook it up with the Hopper 3 at home.
