    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

It appears that VDR examines other channels on the transponder with last PID entry. Changing PID stalls the streamer, then the PID filter starts it again. Again, the only way to overcome this is to turn the PID filter off.

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

I have tried VDR, the problem is that it keeps trying to change pids while the streamer is running. I am not sure what it is doing, but it gets to the sixth pid entry and keeps swaping for pids on other channels. Unfortunately, the firmware does not support this. The only soultion is to turn...

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

All the frequencies from Nilesat 101 at 7.0°W are high band, check that the LNB is an universal type and not a special type for the receiver (pay tv). Nilesat 101 at 7.0°W - LyngSat I think the signal may just be too low and is amplified by the receiver.

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

Sounds like the noisy LNB voltage problem, and stuck in high band. Using another receivers pass through usually removes the noise. In Windows LNB voltage is on by default, so at least some channels should be present. Check the satellite you are scanning has high band channels (>11.7GHz).

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

It just a case of poor PCB design, and wrong component. Otherwise modified QQBoxes work fine. The DM04 (the black plastic boxes) have exactly the same components and have no problems in the UK.

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

The problem is that L101 and L103 are both standard ferrite cores, energy is transferred from L101 to L103 through the case. L103 was originally a toroidal type which is less prone to magnetic pick up. While changing L101 to a shielded type does help horizontal pick up, it does not eliminate...

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

I have found out that the 24C02 is not required and is internal with LME2510C. Fitting the chip may cause the firmware to malfunction. Strange that the schematic should show it, because it is still readable and writeable without it. Possible thought, perhaps that have pinched a ROM area of the...

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

The QQBOX does two things with the incoming supply, one step down to 3.3v, two step up to 13 or 18v. The supply can be anywhere between 6 and 9v and be stable. The power supply is a switch mode type, therefore small adequate supply.

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

Has anyone bought the DVB-S2 version of the QQBOX (or DM04) from china? It contains a LME2510C and a Sharp BS2F7VZ7700 tuner. The tuner itself has the same case work as the Sharp 7395. The Chinese sellers on Ebay appear to be confusing in that they show it along side the TBS model.

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

Only the USB needs be unplugged to reset the device. The power adapter should be powered up all the time. The power for the LME2510 or LME2510C chip comes only from the USB port. Sounds like the firmware is failing to download properly. The device should automatically disconnect then reconnect...

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

Hmm... Looks like it is just a rolling serial number then. I have found that the Sharp tuner is more sensitive than the LG tuner especially in a rain storm with a mini dish. The LG required a line amplifier.

As far as I can make out. DM04B100 is sharp 7395 DM04B090 is sharp 0194 DM0408 is LG The sharp 7395 has 16mm spacing between the RF connector center holes and the Sharp 0194/LG has 22mm. I can't get hold of a sharp 0194 to add support, but I don't think they have been made for sometime.

Yes, I have ordered the part. This is the primary reason for DOA QQBoxes particularly with Windows where tuning starts in the low band. However, I have managed to drive the rotor successfully on the end of a switch. Interestingly, the rotor gives more trouble being driven of LNB 1 than any...

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

I have updated my driver, but the QQBox is still troublesome. However, the DM04 works fine. The QQBox appears to suffer a design issue, with the LNB voltage which appears to have a great deal of switching noise coming from the DC-DC converter close to the tuner. This may trigger the LNB to...

    QQ-Box USB DVB-S Tuner - Unknown Device?

It's not a good idea to use a satellite program to get MC working, with all the extra memory overhead, etc. You might as well have a remote extender and a standard satellite box. Why the drivers can't be made to work directly is a bit of a mystery. I can only assume there is no monetary incentive.
