    Android streaming box

Of course it's not legit. Dish has sued some of the companies selling these boxes but I haven't seen them go after users yet. I wouldn't chance it.

Looks like Netflix/Warner Bros. is happening.

Maybe the incident one out of Chicago :biggrin

    Terrible call to DiSH

SD is unwatchable on anything other than a CRT.

Hopper 3 with sling already bit the dust installed 11-13

Are they even making any new Hopper 3's? I'd think they're just sending refurbs out at this point.

    Terrible call to DiSH

That's my setup, a Wally runs to all TVs in the house. With streaming and OTA, there's no need for every TV to be tuned to a different Dish channel, this isn't 2005.

    Terrible call to DiSH

I still say the Wally is the way to go. They're only $60/ea, the second one is $5/mo and after the one time DVR fee, no other monthly fees. Uses the same LNB as the 722 and connects up like all the old school Dish receivers telstar is familiar with. It's as close to the Dish experience in 1997...

    New Wally software issue

My Wally has been very sluggish lately. I hit the skip ahead button and nothing happens for a couple seconds.

    How things have changed

I didn't realize the "Fall TV Season" was still a thing.

If it's crashing and rebooting, it's usually the caps. Pull the cover and see if any are bulging.

    question about 54.0 remotes

It won't take long, once you get used to it the 54.0 is a great remote.

    Dish 60.0 Remote

Well....I can tell you why :biggrin I had two 50.0 remotes paired to a Wally. Used one of them to go into sys info and pair the 60.0. The 60.0 immediately assumed the identity of the 50.0 I went into the sys info with! Same name, same TV brand. Problem is, it also caused the other 50.0 to do...

    Dish 60.0 Remote

So I had to buy one, this thing is much bigger and much heavier than expected. Haven't set it up yet.

    Terrible call to DiSH

Yes and if you add the OTA tuner it gives you 4 tuners to record from. Poor man's Hopper.

    Terrible call to DiSH

I just tell them it's completely dead and won't do anything to avoid the flowchart of checks they have. I hung on to my ViPs too long, should have switched to a Wally long before I did.

    buying from dish

I get what you're saying but that's old school thinking. People can subscribe to YTTV, but their own streaming devices (or just used apps already built into their TV) and stream 3 channels at the same time for no additional cost. To me it only makes sense to buy Wallys. Avoid the DVR fee and...

YouTube TV & Disney Reach Deal 11/15/25

That's the great thing about these streaming services, no contracts, no tech appointments to install hardware. A few clicks and you have a different service provider!

YouTube TV & Disney Reach Deal 11/15/25

Knowing Google, they probably will. They are still honoring a promo they launched for Google Play Music, which morphed into YouTube Premium. 12 years later I'm still paying $7.99/mo. If you signed up in the first 30 days for Google Play Music they promised $7.99 for life, most companies would...

Why would Spectrum cut ground wire?

I'd just disconnect the coax in the box and remove the grounding cable. Those clips pull right out of the siding.

    Dish remote issues

Even my Wally does it. Nothing to do with the remote, just a software bug.

YouTube TV & Disney Reach Deal 11/15/25

1 ESPN, 1 FX, 1 Disney, 1 Nat Geo is all that's needed. Content was a lot better when we only had 36 channels.

Traditional/Streaming Live TV Providers Losses, 3rd Quarter 2025 Edition

Spectrum losing 109k internet subs is the double whammy. Cord cutting 2.0 is here, 5G is a great alternative to cable internet.

I need someone to ship me ViP922 with its original acessories for free.

Darn it, I just shipped my last 922 off to the guy that asked for one 3 days ago.
