This morning was my big setup. They were connecting an HR34, one client, one HR20 and an R22. All of my content is on my HR20 in the basement now. The installer just left without making it all work. Everything is seeing everything except the basement on the HR34! He worked on it for 3 hrs...

lern, I was very pleasantly surprised at what they offered me. Again, I've been with them since 1998 if that made any difference. I say, hang up and try again.

Can I use a WD hard drive in any eSATA enclosure to expand the capacity? Or would it have to be a WD hard drive and enclosure in one? Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply raoul, but regarding the hard drive, couldn't the same be said for the internal drive? If that fails, I loose all of those recordings too?

Can anyone tell me if the HR34 needs 5 coax runs from the multiswitch? I'm getting installed on Sat and want to be prepared. Also, also have any good leads on what and where to purchase an external hdd that is compatible with it? Thanks much!

If I'm trying to view content from the HR20 but in a different location from where it "lives", will there be a delay in starting the show or fast forwarding or rewinding the content "across the network"?

Oh, I misread your earlier comment. So you could hook up an external drive to the Genie? eSATA? I assumed it was like my HR20 in that if/when the drive dies, I loose everything. But the unit would still function with the internal drive right? Just with no previous content?

any specifics to what type of drive I'd need to replace the internal one? I'm assuming SATA, but what other specs? Thanks

Ever since I didn't the first "upgrade", my list and most button presses have been VERY delayed. I also have about a 20 second delay when hitting list. Even when hitting Exit before it. I like the new look a lot, but not to sacrifice this speed. I really hope this changes. I have an 80%...

This is the first time ice or snow has done this in the 15 years I've had dt in Chicagoland. I've had pixilation before during snow and rain storms, but never this....strange.

Yeah, just checked it out and there is some snow and ice on the dish. It's out of reach so I can't brush it off unfortunately. I just threw a little bit of salt at the dish...fingers crossed...

I now am wondering if there is ice on my dish. Strange as I was watching tv perfectly up until I tried the download last night. Any thoughts on that???

Update, weird. Last night the other receivers were working while my main one was having this issue. This morning all receivers now have the error 771.

Just tried unplugging for a half hour, and still getting searching for satellite signal...(771). Other receivers in the house are working just fine. This one is an HR-20. I hope I didn't brick it by trying this. FYI, I've downloaded new software a couple of times in the past month or two...

Just tried and mine was "stuck" on looking for software for about 15 minutes, so I reset it and tried again with the exact same result. SNL was about to start so I figured I'd just do a restart and not enter the code and get back to where I was and couldn't find a sat signal and the date was...

I've rebooted several times and unfortunately it hasn't changed.

Same issue here. For me the guide is fast, but everything else is painfully slow. It has been about 4 days now since I've downloaded it.
