Any Directv Receiver will work with any DirecTV Dish, with the exception of the H25 and the Genie's.

You REALLY dont want to play with the advanced setup. That could be causing the problems.. I'd try going into network setup, then select on "Restore Defaults", then reset the Genie and try running network setup again. It's strange that it's saying ethernet, but if it will detect wireless...

HR44 and RC71 run under a different RF Standard than the white remotes. Same with C41's and the RC71 Only RC71's (the peanut remote) will work in RF.

Hutch is correct, the only remote that works in RF mode with the HR44 (and, correct me if I'm wrong) and the C41 is the RC71 (Which I really don't like.. just a personal note).

Have you chrcked in the guide that the channels showing are actually HD? I've seen the HD channels drop off the guide before, is why I ask. Example: Check channel 231 in the guide, the network name should be FoodHD, if it doesnt have the HD at the end, then try resetting and see if they show up...

Usually, if it's blinking Red, it means an invalid button was pressed.. In my experience it's usually when your trying to program the remote, and hit a wrong button (usually, hitting "Select" when you should be hitting "Enter").
