    Setting up broadband with HR24-500

If you connect an H24, HR24 or an H25 with ethernet cable, you must have ALL receivers connected with ethernet for Whole Home to work. This is due to the fact that there are 2 network adapters in these receivers. One for the Ethernet Port and one for the Satellite In cable. If you connect the...

Upgrade Lagging HR34 to HR44 or Service Call and hope to get a HR44 as replacement?

Upgrades dont work as far as model numbers go (HR34 to HR44 is not considered an upgrade). A Mini Genie to an HD-DVR would be an upgrade. NOTE: Upgrades go based on TYPE of receiver e.g. HD receiver to an HD-DVR is an upgrade, HR23 to an HR24 is not.

Upgrade Lagging HR34 to HR44 or Service Call and hope to get a HR44 as replacement?

Clearing the NVRAM can speed receivers back up also. Go to channel 1. Wait 5-10 seconds On remote, press RED / RED / BLUE / BLUE / YELLOW / GREEN. See message, "Observe NVRAM/Flash is cleared" on bottom of screen. It may be hard to read.

    Can not program remotes...

C41 remotes are RC71 models. They are normally programmed to the TV (and sound sytem if you have one) after you set them to RF mode. If they are in IR mode, you program them the same way as an older remote. See the posts above for help doing it this way

    Can not program remotes...

Dont use the remote programming in the settings... Go to directv.com, search for "remote control codes", then put in the TV Brand and Model number (if you know it).. then follow the instructions. This will allow you to program the remote the old fashioned way, rather than "Automagically" Note...

how do I find the wireless ssid on directv setup?

Or.. If the password was never changed, just look at the sticker on the back (or Bottom) of the router, the network name (SSID) and password will be printed there

    GenieGO

Important.. They cant order a specific model of GenieGo. Whether you get the original or the GenieGo 2 is a matter of stock levels and Luck. I think (correct me if I'm wrong), the GenieGo 2 can Stream to 2 different devices (phones etc..) at one time, while the original (Which I have) can only...

Did D* drop the broadcast networks On Demand?

Little more info regarding the "Copyright" issue.. The network on-demands wont allow fast forwarding on their downloads. The issue appears to be that on the THR-22, Directv wasnt able to block Fast forwarding. Since they couldn't block it, the networks wont allow them. Your advertising...

Did D* drop the broadcast networks On Demand?

Just did some quick research.. here's what I've found 1. Several postings about this issue with the THR-22 (The DTV TIVO box), found a few answers that the network On-Demand channels not showing up was a known issue (However, searches for shows WILL show those channels, but not give access) 2...

Did D* drop the broadcast networks On Demand?

Do you get Locals from DirecTV or from an antenna/AM21? Just thinking that maybe without locals they dont show up.. I'll research it and see what I can come up with.. It's a problem I've never heard of before

Total numbers of receivers on one account

I think 16 is the most I've seen on one account, not aware of any limit. Although at a certain point I think if it's a residential account, "they" would make sure its a residence and not a Business (Such as a Hotel, Apartment building, etc..)

New Directv Set-up, Looking for Help

    1. Any HD-DVR can get On-Demand, if its connected to the internet. 2. The benefit to wifi is that devices (Like the HR44) can connect to the internet without wires going to the router. The tech needs to know this so he knows if he needs to run an extra cable or not. 3. How big are the HD's...

DirecTV formally announces Wireless Genie Mini Client

I think the commercials are gonna cause a lot of problems.. They say "NO MORE WIRES".. but thats not actually true.. Still need a wire from the TV to the wireless client. Lots of people with Wall mounted TV's are gonna think the HDMI cable isnt necessary anymore. I know when I first saw a...

Will new standard receiver work with old 18" round dish

Your right.. That was poorly worded on my part.. should have said "Dash with multiswitch". Thank you much for the correction!

Will new standard receiver work with old 18" round dish

Any Directv Receiver will work with any DirecTV Dish, with the exception of the H25 and the Genie's.

Genie 34- decca (?) says ethernet not wireless

You REALLY dont want to play with the advanced setup. That could be causing the problems.. I'd try going into network setup, then select on "Restore Defaults", then reset the Genie and try running network setup again. It's strange that it's saying ethernet, but if it will detect wireless...

Genie 34- decca (?) says ethernet not wireless

One more note... once you've removed the ethernet cable, it would be a good idea to reset the Genie, to make sure it switches from the Ethernet port to the Coax. AND, just so you know whats going on, the Genies, H24, HR24 and H25 all have 2 network adapters built in.. the Ethernet port and one...

Genie 34- decca (?) says ethernet not wireless

If its a wireless CCK and he left it there, remove the ethernet cable. (Remove it from both the CCK AND the receiver, then unplug the CCK for 30 seconds) It should only be connected with coax. Cable from the wall goes to "LNB" and the "IRD" goes to the satellite in on the receiver. Once you...

    HR44 UHF remote compatibility

HR44 and RC71 run under a different RF Standard than the white remotes. Same with C41's and the RC71 Only RC71's (the peanut remote) will work in RF.

    RC66RX Remote

Hutch is correct, the only remote that works in RF mode with the HR44 (and, correct me if I'm wrong) and the C41 is the RC71 (Which I really don't like.. just a personal note).

HD Channels are looking like SD channels

Have you chrcked in the guide that the channels showing are actually HD? I've seen the HD channels drop off the guide before, is why I ask. Example: Check channel 231 in the guide, the network name should be FoodHD, if it doesnt have the HD at the end, then try resetting and see if they show up...

RC71 remote, the LED randomly blinks briefly red

Usually, if it's blinking Red, it means an invalid button was pressed.. In my experience it's usually when your trying to program the remote, and hit a wrong button (usually, hitting "Select" when you should be hitting "Enter").
