Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

So I had the Dish install tech arrive (late) yesterday to install the HIC. He insisted that the HIC would not fix my problems and to plug Ethernet cables only into just the 2x Hoppers... Asked me to call him this Wednesday if I had any further issues... I will defer to his judgement, and simply...

Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

Hey - I'm the OP on this thread - just saw your post and wanted to reply to you. My problems went away (for the most part) after removing all but one Ethernet cable from one Hopper (I have 2/H, 2/J) and putting everything into bridging mode. No more freezing, no more weird audio synch issues...

Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

so I finally have the latest software on the Hoppers/Joeys and after re-enabling bridging (I still only have one ethernet cable plugged into the main Hopper). Everything is working, no black screens of death, etc., except now the Home Media option doesn't work on the Joeys... Either way, last...

Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

Thanks! Wondering though if there's any advantage/disadvantage between the two choices? Either plug everything back into ethernet and disable bridging or have a single hopper with ethernet and bridging enabled... ? Either way isn't a problem, just would like to know what the "best" way is....

Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

Just got to work and saw the post about the new software push. Read through all the posts and don't see anything that specifically states whether having bridging disabled now will require that I plug ethernet cables back into my other Hopper and 2x Joeys.... Anyone know for sure?

Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

All clear on the Western front It's been several days now since unplugging all but one of the ethernet cables, and everything (knock on wood) has been honky dory. No more black screens of death, no more arbitrary freezing and no more "looking for Hopper" screens on the Joeys. Very happy now...

Hopper Wish List - What to change

Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

with a single ethernet cable in the main hopper and in bridged mode, the latest report from the homefront is that the Joeys were not "searching for hopper" as they had been previously, but they didn't have the option in DVR to switch to the other Hopper to see the recordings on the other...

Hopper has been nothing but a big hot mess

I have 2 Hoppers, 2 Joeys - so I understand this, I should leave one Hopper plugged in (the one with the Sling Adapter) and unplug the other Hopper and both Joeys? Reboot, and all the ethernet-disconnected devices should connect via MoCa....? not trying to be dense, just making sure I read the...
