    New Weather Channel....

    Oh your talking about the new Weather Channel interactive that Dish Network has come out with. I wish Directv would have something like that instead of the crappy active weather they have now but I don't think that will ever happen.

    DirecTV "Showcases" on my DVR

    There is no way to get the R15 to stop recording the Directv showcases. This stuff is the various programs the Directv makes and sends to all the R15s and it has its own portion of Hard Drive space separate from the space the all the programs you record.

    Change in channel mapping on R15?

    The reason why channel 1000 has gone away is that Directv has started using the Showcases tab in the My vod Menu. The First thing they put in showcases was the video that was on channel 1000 and then early this morning that put on the CD USA that was on yesterday.

    Another thing that I noticed is the logos on the XM channels are a different color too and alot of channels like i that used the Directv logo no longer have a logo and some channels that had a logo like Spike TV also no longer have a logo.

    E/W network feeds

    I also have my locals from Raleigh and the E/W CBS, NBC, and FOX, I couldn't get the E/W ABC because the ABC in Raleigh in O&O by ABC and they refused to give wavers. Plus I also get the SV ABC from both Richmond, and Lynchburg.

    It sounds like you need to call them and have them send a replacement DVR. It sounds like it is defective.

    Have you call Directv yet and told them about the problems you are having with it. I have had my R15 now since last December and it has only crashed on me once besides that one time my R15 has worked perfectly.

    Got the Protection Plan

    I just got off the phone with a D* CSR and this is what she told me "If you purchased the protection plan before Jan. 2006 and you own a Dvr or HD equipment your price is $7.99 but if you purchase the plan after Jan. 2006 then your price will be $5.99 no matter what kind of receiver you own.

    Here is who makes the D10s -100 = RCA -200 = Samsung -300 = Phillips the correct code for humax is 500 not 400 and LG does not make the D10s.

    An Afternoon Spent With the D* SV Tool

    D* has added another SV Local to Mecklenburg Co., Va. They have added WRIC 8 in Richmond. I check the list on D*'s Website and it is not listed for my zip (23968) just the other two that I get (WDBJ and WSET from Roanoke) are listed but I am now seeing it on all my receivers.

    The R15 is a DVR but it does not have Tivo.
