I'm reminded of a scene from "Major League" Fan #1: Too high.. Fan #2: What do you mean "too high" Fan #1: The trajectory, it was... (interrupted) Fan #3: Who the f@#k cares? It's gone. :D

    John Malone comments on VOOM

Can we un-sticky this thread considering no one has talked about the actual subject in oh, say, 3 pages now.

    John Malone comments on VOOM

Not true, it was Time (now Time-Warner) who pulled their investment out of HBO leaving Chuck unable to afford it, so he took his money from selling his stake in it to form what is now much of Cablevision.

    John Malone comments on VOOM

Not true... Most of the money lost (while Voom is a part of Cablevision) is NOT his... Hence the problem - he's currently playing with other people's money and losing.

FaxUpdate April 1, 2005: VOOM Shutdown Could Be Announced As Early As Today

Sounds like someone forgot to turn Microsoft Word's "Auto-correct" off.

Did VOOM employees get a new notice?

Employees were given *a* notice, but the article is not entirely correct about what it says... It does not specify in any way how long people would stay employed. It does reiterate that employees will be payed through (near) the end of April as previously published in their original WARN...

FaxUpdate April 1, 2005: VOOM Shutdown Could Be Announced As Early As Today

My point is that I've been skeptical for weeks, and pointing out that the fate may be more so in E*'s hands than V*'s.

FaxUpdate April 1, 2005: VOOM Shutdown Could Be Announced As Early As Today

Um... no... I'd check again. I never said that Chuck was going to pull this off. In fact I stated several times that I had serious doubts he could pull it off. The only thing I ever claimed to be "in the know" about, was that the financing part of the deal was in place (e.g. the money to buy...

Dolan to invest $400M in Voom

LOL... I'm not even talking about the analysis which is opinon... I'm talking about facts. I could very easily search through the threads (as others have) and point out where you have said press releases SAID something and the Dolans even ADMITTED something, and it was just factually wrong...

FaxUpdate April 1, 2005: VOOM Shutdown Could Be Announced As Early As Today

You ask why Ergan would meet with Dolan? If he is worried the FCC might not approve the license transfer, he might be willing to negotiate. Either way, from where I sit, this article is more or less on the mark.

Dolan to invest $400M in Voom

You said the the Dolans said things in press releases and filings which they didn't. Those are either mistakes or fabrications... Take your pick. Again, I'm not attacking your opinions, but the "evidence" you have used to back up your opinions. And I ***have*** (Jesus Christ, for the...

Dolan to invest $400M in Voom

I don't think people are attacking you for you opinions Rick, but rather that much of the evidence you use to back up your argument is at best exaggerated and misinterpreted, or at worst fabricated outright. You're welcome to your opinions, I've only argued with you when your facts were...
