    Transfer Tivo Acct

I’m just looking to switch my current box w/ a HD box w/o spending $$$ for a new lifetime subscription. I’m not looking to use both just one box; they (Tivo) won’t switch it over. They did offer it when the HD boxes first came out but at $700 hardly something that was affordable and simply...

    Transfer Tivo Acct

I've got an older series Tivo w/ product lifetime service and want to upgrade to the HD Tivo box. Due to the lack of $$$ I can't afford a box plus the new product lifetime fee. Does anyone know how to transfer the product lifetime service from one machine to another? I'm not looking to keep...

Will do...looks like if I get it in time for this weekend I'll have plenty of time as the weather is going south....... I noticed that too last night....not sure it's a major factor in convincing anyone about the 55 but.....

    Last & Next Movie Watched

If Iron Man is something like Xmen then it should be great... Anyone purchase Transformers and use the $10 off coupon that didn't own the SD DVD version prior. It says on the package for previous owners details inside, well the store wouldnt let me open it to find out if I needed to include...

    Last & Next Movie Watched

I picked up Troy last weekend and just picked up a copy of I Am Legend. I was going to get Transformers and it had a $10/off coupon, of course wrapped inside, for current dvd owners. Has anyone used this coupon (mail in) w/o owning a DVD copy? Indy 4…..what a ficken lame movie the first...

    Panasonic DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55

Okay I finally joined the Blu-Ray game and got the Panny 55 last night. I was taking it through its paces last night. I have it hooked up to a Denon AVR 3300 using analog 5.1 inputs and the component video directly to my Mitsubishi WS-55711. When I was going through the setup it gave me the...

Thanks for listing those items Wireless don’t need it as the cabling is already there. Tivo allows me to view all my pictures/videos from my PC w/ 1 TBs worth of room including youtube/online music and a variety of other items. So my laptop w/ my wireless system is just a better concept to...

    Panasonic DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55

Nope, so it looks like I'll be getting the CFO and CEO to let me get an early XMAS gift. I know if I wait the price will come down but really how much can we expect w/ the 30 running at 299? If the sub output is low and I can't adjust it up on the player itself can't I just use the onscreen...

    Panasonic DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55

Okay after reading this an other reviews of the 55, does this then officially bridge the gap w/ PS3. If there anything that the PS3 has over the Panny that I'm not seeing?

    Panasonic DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55

Great reviews Shawn! Here is another review of the 55 where some of the load times are on par or dare I say faster than the PS3. I'm glad I waited and based upon these reviews I think the BPD 55 will fit my current setup needs and yet not stifle me in the near future. While I'd love to have...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

So then am I to asssume the 50 model is just a filler and will be discontinued once the 55 hits the market to improve/correct things on the 50?

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

That's where my research is sending me. I just hate to buy it and then find out I should have gone another route. What advantages does the Panny 55 have over the 50? Assuming that it's a more advanced model it may reduce the price of the 50 when it's out?

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

That's what I've not been able to determine if it's just a transport. If it is then clearly it's out unless I upgrade my AVR which isn't a high priority.

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

Any concensus on Denon's 1800 player coming this fall. Seems to be closer price wise to that of the Panny 50, but I not been able to find out which chip they are using. I appears to offer analog outputs which fits my current AVR requirements from that aspect. But will it internally decode...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

Okay I was way off digital RCA’s are the best route to use. So if I’ve only got 5.1 inputs on the 3300 then from the DVD outputs I just use C, S, FR, FL, RL and RL and leave the other two inputs unconnected?

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

Is using the analog 5.1 connections a better way to connect the audio than optical/coax? The latter are digital vs the 5.1 connections are analog, or am I just way off? In the past I know the higher end Denon DVD players to be much superior to my Pioneer (same era). That an my AVR 3300...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

Whoops I meant can't use the HDMI-Component and therefore it seems that a new DVD player (which decodes all formats) and new TV w/ HDMI inputs fit the needs. While a new AVR would be sweet, I just don’t think that I’d come out ahead as I’m not going to 7.1 and with the DVD player directly...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

Ah, I forgot that yiou could use HDMI to the AVR from the DVD player and then use component out. So that pushes me towards a new TV and DVD player and leave my AVR 3300 alone. I assume that whatever audio signal is outputed to it will just use the DTS/DD 5.1 capability then? Anyone have...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

So kind of looks like I’ll have 4 options: 1) replace all three units. 2) Just replace the DVD player and TV w/ HDMI 3) Replace the DVD player and AVR (w/ HDMI connections) then use component out to the TV (existing) 4) Just replace the DVD player and use component until such time a new...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

If I keep my AVR 3300 then I won’t get the digital sound, the best I can do is either optical or coax from the DVD player to the AVR for DD/DTS 5.1 ?. I could just connect the HDMI cable to the TV (save money on the AVR and get a new TV?). I’ll just have to make sure that under the profile the...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

The only problem is my DVD is failing so I need that component first. I think we’ll want to have a wall mounted TV so LCD. I was looking at Vizio but they don’t make a 55” but I like the fact they are made in the US. Surprisingly I'm getting no resistance from the wife to upgrade the...

Upgrade to Blu Ray or just a Standard DVD?

No I didn't have it calibrated but I'll try the low color temp, thanks. I hate to spend $$ on calibration if I'm going to get a HDMI TV at some point, but yes the red push is horrible.
