I find it interesting. So much discussion of 4k and 1080(i/p). Very little notation of compression and bandwidth. In my opinion, compression and bandwidth affect picture quality as much or MORE than resolution, 4k and 1080(i/p).

OMG streaming with 'ads'. :( The same 3-4 ads every ad segment. And usually single ad repeated more than once during an ad segment. Short term, Really missing ability to time offset watching and 30sec skip to skip commercials.

Verify'd, FireStick DA attemps to stream recordings, but just a black screen, no error message on DA. Signed up for service plan for free shipping. No tech needed. They are allowing, and I prefer Self Install. :)

Well, This Hopper 3 worked for 4 years almost to the day. Called support, Replacement H3 on the way. We awoke Monday to hardrive failure. Thankfully, the current software sllows tuners to function without harddrive. At least for the H3 itself, all joeys show menus, guides, ets, but no channels...

I was on vacation a while back and ran into this situation. AS I recall, I remote (DA) started a recording of the program that DA was defaulting as a stream. I exited, went back in and Accessed and watched program via dvr.

Boring????? Keeping in mind... Each episode extended from 1hr to 2hr... Extra hour of 'fluff' Yeah, I get it too.... Boring.

This happens a lot with nascar and FS1/FS2. My thought is, Seek timers search entire lowest channel before moving to next higher channel. Therefore, because FS2 (149) is lower channel number in guide the timer finds the replay on FS2 before the live event on the higher channel number FS1 (150).

Firestick has 2 advantages... A) DishAnywhere for traveling B) Internet browser for streaming web sites that don't have streaming apps. The Roku has a nicer user interface.

Not Good News. Got home tonight. All is off. Pressed Dish remote tv power button. Tv turns on. Receiver turns on. Receiver is on Roku. Press Dish remote sat button. Receiver switches to Hopper for a few seconds then back to Roku. Go over to receiver. Manual turn receiver knob to select Hopper 3...

Further followup. Tonight, Put Hopper into standby. Pressed home on FireStick. Receiver switched to FireStick. No flashbacks to Hopper3. Suggesting key is to put Hopper 3 into standby before switching to other device.
