    Coolsat 8000?

What about the part where it says the..... ATSC standards replacing the NTSC format used in North America ..Does that make any sense to you? Is it possible to receive FTA using ATSC standards. Probably a dumb question but I am new to the fta world.

    Coolsat 8000?

I can't find it now but I did see at Gosatellite.com that the 8000 HD only does hd for ATSC. Also said that the first units will not have a USB port.

Say good-bye to Voom..I for one don't care because when it comes to hd.. Voom is a pretender.

    Voom's PQ Is Lousy

Check out the ball game on TNTHD thats on now...look at the fuzzy faces of the people sitting in the stands. The crappy PQ is not about anything other than trying to do to much with to little.

    Voom's PQ Is Lousy

What I noticed while watching The Masters was a lack of detail..nothing was sharp or crisp. The smaller the object the camera was looking at.. the fuzzier it looked. Not once was I able to see the dimples of the golf ball. When ever the camera would scan (often in golf) there was a washout...

    Voom's PQ Is Lousy

I'm for anything that would get the picture quality where it should be.I would give up three of my favorite channels if that's what it takes. Just watched The masters on UHD and it was anything but high definition...sad :(

    Voom's PQ Is Lousy

I knew my post would bring in the clowns..so be it. Come on Voom give us the quality that you advertize...maybe drop that flipper channel and a few others to open up some bandwidth for the channels that are watched by more than a few.

    Voom's PQ Is Lousy

It's blurry, fuzzy, and lacks detail. My analog cable looks better than Voom's sd channels without a doubt. The HD channels are soft with no depth and no wow factor what so ever. I had directv the first year it came out and the PQ back then was better than Voom's HD channels are now. The only...

April fools: Dish Network VOOM Converter?

If it's true than it must mean voom has giving dish access to some of it's programing as part of a deal to maintain the rights to keep or at least use Rainbow1 ?

Change In HD Quality, or is it just me?

I also agree with you...We now have low res hi def and I think it's here to stay.

A Couple Of Questions Regarding Voom

I can't compare voom to directv but I can tell you that voom sd is inferior to analog cable "quite bad". The hd channels lack detail which is being blame on new encoders that were recently added, but I'm begining to doubt that's the real reason for the poor pq that we now have.

    Picture Quality NOW!!!

PQ Not So Good I'd say the pq is probably about 70% as sharp as the one ota channel I receive. And that would be for the best of the voom hd channels. Watch for close-ups of peoples faces and you can see the focus come and go, almost as if we are receiving the signal in pulses. As for the pq...

    Network Stations

Does anyone know if Voom plans to add the network stations ? No ota from my location and I don't care if they are local or not.. but I need the major networks so I can drop cable.
