Latest update is that my Mom can change the channels and has a picture but it has the sports bar on it and without the sports bar you just get a black screen and can't change the channels. I will have to try and figure this out when I get home.

I had that happen with my old Hopper and it was the hard drive going bad. That is what resulted in my getting a Hopper 3 (which seems like a mistake!)

Mine still is not working right. One of our TVs will only work on 3 channels and the rest are black and won't play anything on the DVR. One television is fine. Not sure about the third. I can't assess the situation until I get home from work. It is a mess ... I have Dish service coming on...

Actually there seems to be a lot of bugs on the Hopper 3 and other issues. This new hopper with so many issues is not going to work with my aging parents. I think I may need to go back to the original hopper if they aren't playing around with it the same way they are this one.

The work around worked (thank you!) but mom didn't seem too thrilled about it. In the old version hopper you could do it directly from the guide and not mess up your timers.

It still does it. If you have a timer set for all new and then use the guide to record a different episode the all new timer is replaced with the record one episode. Mark, I sent you a pm.
