    Directv in RV

Thank you for the reply. I agree, I’m not going to spend several hundred dollars on an AIM for something I do once a month, 8 months of the year. I am going to look further into this legacy LNB.

    Directv in RV

Thank you for the reply. Not really ready to shell out that much for the AIM. I know the dish and lnb work as I was able to tune in 101 a couple weeks ago. Just looking to not waste so much time. Like u said just need more practice. Is there something with the HS17 that would prevent the...

I stand corrected. Yes I meant it doesn’t require a separate one. Figured that would be understood.

    Directv in RV

Thanks for the input on the receiver but that isn’t really my issue. It’s really not hard to unplug the HS17 and then plug it back in to the camper with the extra plug I keep in the camper. And same thing with the wireless minis. They actually work great because I take one to my mother in law...

    Directv in RV

thanks for the reply txbrit. So following your method, line up my elevation and azimuth based on zip code, then dither and I should be good without a meter. I am unable to dither correctly because I don’t have the fine tuning knobs. I’m going to order a replacement back unit for $15, cheaper...

I am hoping to get a couple questions answered to help me with this as I’d like to learn to do it myself. I have...

    Genie2 in rv

Update: Well unfortunately we camped around tons of trees so I wasn’t able to tune in. I do have another question for you all. I was trying to use a cheap satellite meter finder (eagle aspen SF-99) to be dial in the signal. As soon as I plug the coax from receiver into the meter, I get a...

And yes, it’s an HS 17. Planning to do a trial run this week in the driveway. Thanks for the info. I will run straight from dish to genie.

    Genie2 in rv

No much more of a PITA than bringing my old dish receiver which is what I did for the last few years. Just have to plug in a few things. And cheaper than having to add a second account to get a whole other receiver for 6 months of the year

    Genie2 in rv

Do I need a swm switch or splitter for genie2 system? I’m just trying to mimic my home unit in my rv. I have already upgraded the lnb and have tripod for manual aiming. My wife reluctantly switched us from dish at home which is a lot more RV friendly. Thank you fir the assistance!!
