    What Happened to Everybody?

I'm not uninterested, just unable to participate. I'm still in a nursing home, recovering much slower than I'd hoped. My view is to the North, and not much of that. I've no real chance of any kind of satellite access, so I'm keeping quiet and biding my time.

    Satellite publications

Well, if you can get the PDF version, download it and print it yourself (on archival-grade paper, no less).

Can a Digiwave DWD60T pull in FTA?

If I might suggest, the Florida heat wouldn't be so bad if you were outside at night. There's a full moon now, so there's some light, and of course the satellites are always there.

    MeTV Removed from Dish

I've got MeTV on, via Dish, at 11 AM on 5/26. Matlock just finished, and In The Heat of the Night is coming on. All seems OK here.

    WTOO-CD & WJAC-TV in Johnstown, PA

I looked up "WTOO-CD" on Wikipedia (where else), and found out that it's now a Low Power TV station. Their office is in Bolivar, PA; the antenna is north of Johnstown on the Cambria/Westmorland county line. Their website is: WTOO-CD - Wikipedia

    Just Canceled

TitanTV.com has listings a week or so in advance. Not sure how to do off-air listings, but I've been using it for cable & satellite listings for years.

Free Birdview Satellite dish & all equipment, just haul it off. What do I need do to advertise?

Well, the obvious question is, Where is it? (How far would one have to travel to collect it?) And what all is included? "Everything" isn't a sufficient answer.

    Future moon base TV station?

Given the distance, and reasonable power, it'd probably be on Ku band to keep the tx/rx dishes to a reasonable size. The Earth dish would also have to be automatically aimed, as the Moon's direction changes through the day. And the station won't be available when the Moon is down, so maybe not...

Pathway X2--how long of a cable can you use and still have it be effective? and how does the length of cable effect the signal?

Doesn't anyone make a (generic?) booster amp? There's got to be a market for that.

Dropping DTV soon, do they want the boxes back?

If you've got stuff recorded on the box, you might want to keep it; at least until you can copy it off somewhere else. (They're not going to send someone after it.)

    Commercial Hughesnet 39” Score

Umm... "Maybe" I'm just dense, but why "only one polarity"?

    Big Weird Dish

Well, a feed arm. But the waveguide, if there was one, would mount to that; and we don't know where the end of that was relative to the dish: axial, offset, ??? . Maybe Mr. Wry will clarify the shape.

What attenuates the signal coming to LNBF

What about regular (tarpaper) roofing shingles? Could I put a dish in the attic, and "see" through the roof?

    Big Weird Dish

Well... It looks like a straight parabolic dish. It should be easy to find the focal point on that, where the lnb, etc. goes. At that size, it's probably intended for C-band; but would be sweet for K-band. Is it steerable? What kind of mount? I'd find out who it belongs to; and try to acquire...

    Are Canadians nuts?

I'm really tired of the commercials featuring the ostrich, or whatever. Same company has a few featuring a giant dollhouse - can't change the channel fast enough for those! OTOH, the play-on-words commercials, where people have a problem with their neighbors fencing :fencing, or the pipes making...

Why not just watch 2 (or more) at a time, and choose the earlier one? Work through all the feeds, you'll find the earliest.

replacing reed sensor with hall sensor

Concrete patio pads aren't that thick. He probably pounded the ground rod way in, then poured the patio around it. My guess is the ground under the patio has dried out, and lost conductivity. Your "ground" isn't a ground any more, and needs to be replaced. This is something you'll need an...

In your opinion, which company makes the DUMBEST TV commercials?

The company that now features an emu is pretty bad. They used to be funny; then they tacked the jingle at the end of their ads & went downhill from there.

Nexstar Media Group forces blackout of nearly 5.4 million DISH customers

Why not try TitanTV com? It's 24/7 coverage for the next 2 weeks, with program descriptions, searches, etc. And you can reconfigure it to put the channels in the order you want. It's free (with ads) over the internet.

    WTOO-CD & WJAC-TV in Johnstown, PA

Well... I just discovered WTOO / H&I this evening. They have an all-evening STAR TREK showing, TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and now Enterprise. I've spent the last half-hour looking at one frozen frame of Enterprise. I'm not sure how I'm getting it, as it's where the local CBS affiliate (WTAJ-Altoona...
