No, I have no proof. I asked the csr to email me with all of the details, and of he said "yes", then never did it. I would like to cancel just to make sure he gets no commision for the sale.

The CSR must have received some sort of credit for closing the deal. They must be able to know who it is. I'll admit it sounded a little too good to be true, and that is why I called back to confirm, but the guy flat out lied to me on about 5 different key points. I guess I will call back as...

I know with Dish, you can email the ceo if you are not happy, but who do you contact at Directv if you feel you are getting jerked around? I just signed up, and the csr promised a lot of stuff to me in order to reel me in. I have already called back once to make sure I was getting the deal...

Both installers that looked at it said the same thing about D* being a wide open shot for me. (one looked like they worked for E*-at least they had a very official looking van) Also, my looking at the angle of my neighbor's D* dish, it would make sense that I could get it. Don't ask me why.....

The installer that came today also does D*, and he said we had a clear shot of all 5.....

Don't think I didn't consider it. But there are about 5 of them (one is my neighbors), and they are all about 80 feet high.....

When E* came out to do my HD upgrade, they could not get a signal. (trees) Another installer came out...same story. Also recently, the trees around my house and my neighbors have gotten so bad that my regular E* signal only comes through about 75% of the time. Lots of "aquiring signal" messages...

Call back. I got a different answer every time. One guy said I needed to pay the $249 upgrade again...one person said my programming would go up $17/month for the same thing package. I have a 942 and an 811 (2 hdtvs and 1 sdtv) Bottom line for me is my programming will be $5 less for 10...

I currently have AT 100+ locals + HD + voom. (no movie packages) I spoke with Dish today, and they said that my monthly fee would go from 71.95 to 88.96 after the 10 month $10 credit. ($12 of that would be lease fees- I currently pay $5 or $6). Almost $90/month for AT100 + HD + locals...

Nice. With all of the equipment you are leasing, and all of the programming you are paying for, you are smart not to put up with the usual csr garbage, and they were smart not to continue jerking you around.

When I called to inquire, they did say that there would be a $200 rebate on it after April 1st, making my net outlay an extra $99, still not "free", but still a lot after already shelling out $250. Maybe I will wait and see what the deal is when we get closer to Bears season...I guess no rush...

I "leased" a 942 last June when I signed up. I questioned the CSR about the $250upfront lease fee, mentioning that I knew MPEG4 would be coming soon, and I didn't want to pay a $250 surcharge if the equipment would be obsolete in a year or so. The CSR reassured me that by paying this upfront...

This was an issue going back to the VOOM days. Sure, quality is great, and it is why we bought our sets. But at what point do you get bored with repetition that fewer channels would show? Why not combine some of the Voom channels, and just have less repetition? Here are your choices: 6...
