Rural areas are precisely the target areas for Wildblue. You should be able to sign up with your RECC. If not, you can sign up for the service on the WildBlue Web site so that after the RECC rollout is complete, you'll be able to get the service directly.- Holler

We have a similar situation here in Kentucky. The closest NRTC provider is 100 mi. away. They will sell WildBlue outside their area, however, and your friends should check with their closest NRTC member to see if this is the case in TX.
