According to a scrolling message being run over CCTV-9 a few minutes before and after the hour, Directv will no longer be carrying that channel after 8/25/08. Although it's not one of the best of the genre, it's sad to see another source of international news being discarded by the Directv...

Has anyone heard why Directv is no longer carrying here!, channel 190 as of 12/1/05 per the announcement on their latest billing? Both a phone call to them and an email has not produced a satisfactory answer. Customer service knew nothing about it and promised a call back but so far nothing...

Directv Dropping CNN International I noticed Sunday evening they were running a crawler on CNNI stating that they would be dropping that channel and stating that the other two CNN channels would continue. I hope that have another good source of international news waiting in the wings to replace...
