    transponder question

mostly correct, you would see just the 101 with a 3x4 switch on a phase III. you would still see the even and odd's but the switch wouldnt know what to do with the 22khz tone and never switch to the 110/119 side. therefore the two recievers he had hooked up to the 3x4 would only show the 101...

    directv new install question

i couldnt agree more robert. im the in house technition trainer at directech n.e. we are a hsp. we require sbca and constantly pull tech's off the road whenever we think they need up-training in any field. quality work is the only way to stay in buisness and prevent costly service calls in the...

    directv new install question

my personal opinion is that the r-15 is vastly supirior to the r-10 unless you want to mod your tivo(add hard drive or linux). but again thats just me. i like how fast the r-15 is(no waiting for anything like the guide to fill out or pauses when you hit rec.) also you dont neccesarily need a...

    LCD TV's with DIRECTV tuner

sears sold that rca 62" many many years ago. it was the first hd tv sold in maine where i live. back somewhere around 1995. i personnally dont like any combo device nomatter what it is. dvd/vcr, tv/vcr, tv/dvd, or tv/dtv. my only reason for that is that if one part of the component breaks then...

    Possible or nightmare?

its not terribly hard. get a 3 lnb sat, a 4x8 powerd multiswitch, and a buttload of cable. run 4 lines from the dish to the multiswitch, then run 2 lines to each reciever. if you have any experiance doing sattilite then this wont be terribly harder than a normal install. just remember the 4x8...

    DTV with Time Warner internet?

just to explain a little more the new 5 sat uses frequencies below 800MHz. therefore the diplexer will get confused and sent the sat to the UV/ant side(<800MHz.) and only cause problems for both the cable/Internet and the sat.

    Multiswitch question

i personnally use 6x8's for everything now only because you dont have to power it. and because im a tech and i dont have to pay the diffrence(i assume they cost more)
  15. cpt_roo

    Multiswitch question

the 4x8 or 6x8 will lock each of the 4 lines to the dish to a certain sattilite eg. one for 119, one for 110, one for 101 even transponders and one for 101 odd. then the 4x8 can send whichever signal it needs to one of the 8 outputs. therefore replacing the dish's multiswitch.

    DTV with Time Warner internet?

you can only diplex on the triple sat. not the new 5 lnb. but you can defenitly diplex any cable internet into sattlilte lines no prob.

dont get signal when plugged into certain outlets

you could also try to get one of those grey 2 to 3 prong outlet adapters and break the little green ground off the adapter. then you wont damage the power cord and you accomplish the same outcome. ### sorry diddnt see above post.

dont get signal when plugged into certain outlets

i am a senior tech for directechnortheast. and i have been on 3 service calls recently where that was the exact problem. we litterally replaced the entire system recevier to dish, and still the same problem(one was missing all the odd transponders, one was missing only one transponder, one was...
