Yes - I was told on 6/28. New dishes out this fall, as well as the new DVR. I will be waiting until I can get the slim line dish and the new DVR before I upgrade.

I am in Plantation and get the networks with an amplified antennae. ABC and Fos (the ones we dont get through Directv) are a bit tough, but a good quality antennae and you should be fine. COngrats on the good deal, I got mine off of ebay about 6 months ago for $300.

Last night I was told that they will be released at the end of the summer and the units were in testing right now and that ther ewer eno reported problems (how would she know the problems though). She was an elevated technical service representative.

THe "elevated technical support" representative told me last night that there is no reason to switch to MPEG4 until the new DVR is widely avilable. If this is the case, they are not shutting anything off any time soon.

Or purchase a 10-250 for $325 from ebay and dont extend yoru ocntract, this way you have more leverage with retention when that time comes.

By standard DVRs I think they probably meant the HD MPEG2 tivos, not the regular BS tivos.

I think the real question with the new channels, such as TNT if rumors are right, is will they be released so us with MPEG2 can get them, or will they only be an MPEG4 release. I can see new channels being released but only being able to be seen with MPEG4 equipment.

Watch it be released only for 5 LNB dishes.

I just set up my HR10-250. Scrolling through the guide is real slow, not sure if this is normal. There is a delay of a couple of seconds going from screen to screen in the guide. Also, NBC and CBS channels are not appearing in the DVR set up, I assume its because all the guides have not been...

I dont get CD USA (not sure what this channel is) or NFL int he HD channels.

I would just like some clear direction by D* and a universal plan for the roll out of the HD. A complete HD package and a customer friendly approach, thats all.

I thought that I would also not get any new HD channels that are added, as someone said above that new HD channels will only be MPEG4. For instance, if TNT HD is aded, it will not be added as a MPEG2 signal but only a MPEG4 signal, and thus all those with MPEG2 that have not elected the upgrade...

An from what I hear we should expect that unit at the end of the year. Will the new dish also be able to handle both MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 signals so I wont need 2 dishes? I bought the 10-250 because at $325 delivered it was a good deal, and I cant be without tivo even after the upgrade.

Well I just purchased the HD tivo for $325 delivered, hopefully I didnt make a mistake. It sucks that new HD channels will not be introduced on MPEG2, I will miss out on the new aditions. I wonder if I can upgrade and keep both MPEG2 and MPEG4 at the same time, is this possible?
