    Exclusive: Dish / Sirius News

Well, it's fine that Dish has them now but I have never listened to any of the audio channels and will probably never listen to Sirius. I think it's a waste of bandwidth (even though small). All the audio channels and shopping channels should be cancelled and more HD added. Our local Cox is...

Discrete Power ON/OFF Instructions for 811/921

For my system on macro, the macro executes: SYS INFO, wait .3 sec, PWR, wait .3 sec. ,PWR. That will always power on the dish even if it is already on. To power off: SYS INFO, wait .3 sec.,PWR. It will always turn it off. Somewhat of a kluge but it works. I was hoping to read the hex...

Discrete Power ON/OFF Instructions for 811/921

Markdl, my MX-700 and Dish 6000 still work with the string of ON and Sys Info commands to simulate discrete ON and OFF.

Discrete Power ON/OFF Instructions for 811/921

When I had looked at Remote Central. I had found there were a series of keystrokes to simulate discrete ON and OFF. It required pressing ON a couple of times and the Sys Info button. I was looking for a single ON and a single OFF as was described by Scott. Thanks.

Discrete Power ON/OFF Instructions for 811/921

Markdl, Thank you for the link. I saw those last year but unfortunately I don't have a Pronto. I have an MX700 and I don't know how to get the hex codes into the MX-700. I was wondering if there were any keystrokes I could use to have my MX-700 learn the discrete commands from the dish...

Does this work on the Model 6000 or is there some other sequence or does it not have that capability? Thanks!

Does the new 811/921 have better 8vsb modules?

Interesting information Barry. I'm sure there is more to it. I saw on one website that they claim acceptable performance even with up to 0dB multipath signals. Do they improve performance by the number of taps they use?. My digital signal processing knowledge is a little rusty since that was...

Does the new 811/921 have better 8vsb modules?

The company that has a new algorithm is Linx Electronics and I think their website is http://www.linxelectronics.com/ and the device is said to be: "LX1080TX is a "Ghost-Friendly" ATSC standard compliant receiver. In contrast to the existing solutions trying to remove multiple ghosts...

UPDATE:Retailer Chat Update (Inc. Hardware and New Locals)

What about if you pay on an annual basis? Do they still want CC autopay? I just changed to the HD package from Discovery HD and until the end of February, it was an extra $6.00. Also, for the free upgrade, do they just extend your current subscription for 1 year?

Software Version 7.80 Spooling For Model 6000 Receivers

Thanks for the info but I already use the discrete codes for my Mitsubishi, Denon and other equipment. Only issue was Dish since they do use a toggle. Remote Central came up withe SYS INFO and Power twice sequence to make sure the 6000 came on whatever state it was currently in. I was only...

Software Version 7.80 Spooling For Model 6000 Receivers

With the discrete codes, can they be learned? I have a Home Theater Master MX-700 that would need the original remote to program it. Is there a button sequence for only ON and a different sequence for only OFF use the Dish remote control? Right now, it is screwy to press on, wait and then...
