    Sirius Radio "Acquiring" problem

I have a Mazda CX-7 and was one of the group of people that had the "Updating" issue a few months back. The reciever was working fine after Sirius made the temporary update fix until Monday when is is stuck in the "Acquiring" mode. I'm getting the same run around as before with Sirius saying...

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

I called the Mazda 1-800-222-5500 Tech Service number to see if they had any new info and was told that the current fix was that Sirius was going to send an update to the affected modules that would reset them to the old channel configuration while the problem with the new update was being...

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

Yea - adding to the email list, that must be it. How about we all go outside and give the finger to the satelite, maybe that will work too.

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

I don't believe the guy with the Mazda 3. When I hear it from some of the others or if mine starts working I'll believe it then. By now both Mazda and Sirius know what styles of modules work and which do not. Just give me one of the types that does and they can figure out on their own time why...

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

Has anyone else recieved an email from Sirius today? I recieved the first 2, but nothing today. Is this the fix that Sirius was talking about - reset the radio and wait for an update. This is old crap! It didn't work 2 weeks ago and it won't work now.

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

I agree, it's taken far too long to get this resolved. I get the feeling they have the fix, but are stuck on who will eventually pay for it. Unfortunately we the subscribers ( I have 2 subs) are the ones caught in the middle.

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

Wow- this is getting heated. Hardware vs Software. How about we get a pool going.Closest guess wins. I vote hardware affecting mostly Clarion units being fixed by Mazda.

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

Latest news: Spoke with local Mazda Service manager - he recieved a preliminary notification from Mazda that 6000 Sirius modules are affected nation wide and will require replacement. He didn't have all the details yet, but says it will be handled by a Tech Service Bulliten and believes it will...

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

Sirius update It's my understanding that it should take no longer then 5 minutes for the update, but during the update you should be able to get channel 184 and hear the voiceover. I don't expect they will have a quick fix on Friday. I spoke with the Tech Service staff at Sanyo and this is a...

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

I hope you're right, but judging by the different stories I've been told from Sirius (I've called 8 times) they have little credibility with me. I hope we'll know by the end of the week.

Monday's update for SIRIUS (Mazda owners)

I have a CX-7 and have been going back and forth with Sirius and Mazda for over a week. Sirius finally admits that they have a problem with certain Mazda recievers, mine is a Sanyo. It's not a reset issue, my guess it's hardware not software and most likely the chip set in certain recievers...
