    Washington Nationals/Baltimore Orioles Blacked Out?

Hi there, Generally, if you can receive the replays, then you should get the live game. (Yes, I'm even getting blacked-out on replays...) BUT, that probably means that some other channel in your area gets precedent over the one you're trying to watch right now. Have you flipped through all...

    "moving" ? to get baseball

Jason, Technically, that's illegal...so you may want to refrain from giving too many details in the public forum ;) BUT, I am pulling my hair out over these blackout policies as well. All I'll say is: Are they surprised when legit customers resort to illegal means, just because E* clearly...

    Royals-Tigers 4-2 already blacked out???

I feel your pain, bro....I'm going through something similar. I live in CT so have always received Red Sox, Yankees, and Mets games. I switched to Dish in December and now am getting blacked out on Red Sox and Met games (no YES network, obviously...) I have been calling Dish support, and...

    Low signal from 110 sat

FYI for anyone that was following this thread... I re-checked plumb each way and did all the usual fine-tune steps to no avail. I was getting occasional "Check Switch" errors, but it worked fine 99% of the time. I thought that my long runs (~ 200 ft) may be causing it. But when I was getting...

    Pissed at Dish!!

Did you consider putting it on a rotor? I know, it's annoying that it can't do it all from one location, but at least the stations are free HD :D Check out the rotors they have now that you can program and they automatically move based on your channel selection: (Hope it's ok to post a URL...

    Dish SS readings....

I actually appreciate it. I'm probably less than 75 miles (as the crow flies) from there, and it shows me that he's getting sat 110 TP 12 signal strength of 80, while TP 3 is only 43. This helps me know that TP 3 is weak in general (at least in the NorthEast), and that I shouldn't bust my ass...

    Low signal from 110 sat

Hi all, I bought the Dish 500 Pro equipment and installed it with a 322 box (not my first picnic installing DBS :) ) However, I'm getting some low signals from the 110 sat that don't really seem to improve with fine tuning. For TP 11 on sat 119, I'm up in the 70s or 80s (That seems to be as...

Do I REALLY need to lease the receivers???

Ok guys...here's the deal. Forget about leasing the receivers...this is self-install oriented only. I forgot that the 1st receiver would be covered in the main fee, and I wasn't looking for any DVR capabilities. (BTW...I didn't expect the thread to go this far by any means!) As most others on...

Do I REALLY need to lease the receivers???

That sounds just like what the cable companies told the FCC ;) According to the Circuit City site, the H20 has a $99 lease upgrade fee, though, and then 4.99/month after that. The 2nd receiver for 4.99 makes sense, as that is the same as it was back 8-10 years ago. Ok, so if I resign to the...

Do I REALLY need to lease the receivers???

Hi all, I'm switching from cable tv/internet to DSL and either DirecTV or Dish, but I'm awfully confused. I used to install DirecTV back in the mid-90's, and back then, you owned the receiver. Now, I'm looking to sign up and all I see are lease offers! Dammit, that's part of the reason I'm...

Can you get Hispasat (30.0) with an 18" dish?

Very nice! Ok, so now my question is: How do I figure out approximate settings for my location? The Satfinder program I have only does sats betw 60 and 160W, as far as I can tell... Thanks

Can you get Hispasat (30.0) with an 18" dish?

Suppose I have a spare 18" or 20" dish lying around...is it at all possible to point that and pick up Hispasat? If not, what's the minimum size dish I would need, being located in New England? Thanks

    Need advice - newbie

Hey all, I call myself a newbie, but I do have some experience with this stuff. Installed DirecTV dishes for a while, and played around with a friend's C-band BUD back in the day. Here's my question: If you had to recommend ONE dish/receiver setup to someone like myself, what would it...
