    you should put a ground rod in the ground at the dish and hook it to the pole, and if required by code, run a ground wire to the grounding block in the house.

    Surge Suppression and Power Condtioning

    I have a apc350 on my 28inch tv and hughes directv receiver, but the voltage in the neighborhood is a bit low (109vac) so the ups jumps in whenever anything is turned on, like the microwave or frig, or even the microwave next door. I should realy get a line conditioning ups.

    OT: How can people stand OTA?

    To clarify, the adirondacks are in northern new york, and I am using a amplified winegard at about 20 feet, which proves to be good at receiving stations from about 60 miles away. I also have seen some Canadian stations, near 100 miles due to propagation.

    well here in the central adirondacks there is little choice, ota from around 60 miles south, or cable. and the cable has yet to be upgraded (ie 35 channels, just as bad as ota) and of course directv is not planning to offer locals from that city, so...ota is the only way to go with directv.

    zdtv to g4 I remember the days of just 4 or 5 shows replaying over and over again on zdtv, now turned into this... it is simply not worth watching anymore.
