I appreciate all the back and forth, enlightening and fun.
This project will be when construction is done. At that point I think I will put my existing Joey out on the 200' run and see how it works. At that point SolidSignal may get some business.
Thank you all for perspective
The new Joey will be 200 ft from the hybrid tap attached to the hopper, which has only one outgoing port.
Is there any advantage to me doing this myself, or is there a disadvantage not going thru Dish Service?
I currently lease an H3 and J2, and have for years. Also have Dish Protect
I am making an addition to the house and will want another Joey out there, this one about 200 feet away.
The J2 is wired thru a Hybrid Tap 203962 in the back of the hopper.
I am looking for advice on how to proceed.

Brittany, I am starting a new problem here:
I have been unable to plug an EHD into each port and then have them both show up together, each as a device.
I only get one, and if I unplug that one, then I can get the other.
Is this an issue or a feature?
Has anyone noticed a drop in EHD transfer speeds.
It seems like it takes an extra minute and a half to transfer a 1 hr drama, either direction.
I grabbed a different good cable and no change.
disease spreading ... deteriorate gradually
I fear the same
It would be nice to be able to transfer from one ehd to another - less wear and tear on the hopper's drive
EHDs not working correctly.
The H3 recognizes them, populates the contents as usual, but when I go to play or move a program, the No Events To Display message comes up.
Reset doesn't help
I would like for a Dish Tech to approach the engineering people wherever they make hoppers happen, and ask them, for me, to increase the width of the blue border that indicates which program is highlighted and shortly to be sent out of trash.
I am hardly ever able to see which program is...
When you pause a program, for example, up comes the progress bar, the program name, and other stuff, all superimposed over the “black bar” which stays there for an excruciatingly long 7 seconds.
WHO chose 7 seconds?
I have all the paused and buffered problems as well, but most distressing is that it goes black screen at least once a day, then restarts. This has been happening since well before before the 383 update.
When I go to a program’s info screen and click on episodes, there is a new term being used. What DOES included mean
Reminds me of “depends on what the definition of is is”
I want to thank the Tech Department for one area of improvement related to the showtimes fiasco.
When I would go down the list in the Schedule prior to the recent update, and I would click on a show in the schedule, the option to skip the recording came up first, except if there were another...
