    Homesat 8009 BJU

I assume you're talking about the dish. Unless you've shipped one or had one shipped, it can be pretty stunning when you realize what it will cost. You lost me on that one - what difference does it make that BJU is ceasing their sat services if you're buying it as a FTA setup?

    Homesat 8009 BJU

BJU is ceasing their satellite transmissions next May - there may be a bunch of that equipment showing up cheap (assuming the owners don't just toss it out). There's at least a couple thousand of them in operation.

Earlier versions of that dish didn't have ANY elevation adjustment screw. Adjusting elevation on those is an adventure. $25 for all that - hard to beat.

    Finding a mounting pole?

Last year I lucked out and found a local place that would sell me a 7 foot length of 2.5" galvanized pipe (2.875" outside diameter). They happened to have that length kicking around. I now need another pole so I went back to the same place. They will now only sell me a full 21 foot length. Not...

    Galaxy 25 issues?

BJU Homesat just got shifted by Intelsat from Galaxy 25 to Galaxy 26 with very short notice (only 1 week). Does anyone know if there are hardware issues with Galaxy 25? I thought the replacement was not going to be launched until March 2008. Wild guess... perhaps they are shutting down...
