    Sorry for the spelling error. Let's follow this link. http://www.dbsforums.com/compare/chart.html This chart shows that D* has 48 licenses at 103. That is 32 plus 16. Just cause the transponder isn't transmitting doesn't mean it doesn't have a license.

    I could never do satellite internet. It is bad enough that I lose my TV when it rains, I couldn't deal with losing internet too.

    Spaceway-1 is the satellite that shares the 102.8 orbit with Directv-10 now. It is an older model 702 that has nothing to do with -1 other than sharing it's orbit.     I just joined to reply to this. Straight from Boeing's web site, Directv-10 and 11 have 32 active and 12 spare national transponders each as well as 55 active and 15 spare spot beams. If you do the math at 4 each on the national transponders thats 128 possible channels each.
