What about SciFi? I can't believe Animal Planet is so high on your list? I know SciFi doesn't have a huge HD selection, but it has what I like...Atlantis, Gallactical...etc. I worry about having HD versions of "rerun channels" that will only be digital (no HD) TV...much like TBS.

Well Cablevision got my channel 766 activated and viewable... ...not I sit down to watch TV and my DVR service is out! Again, I called Cablevision, did the customer server square dance...indentified box...check signal strenght...confirmed the DVR is activated...did a reBOOT again... ...then...

Cablevision is raising prices. I'm looking at DirecTV and Echostar as an alternative, but I'm also considering just living on OTA-high def with a TIVO. With that said, what would be my cheapest way to get HBO, not counting just recording my favorite shows at someone else's house?

What does Optimum Online cost without Cable TV service? If it's on the website it is buried. Also what would Internet service and VOIP cost alone?

In regards to Cablevision's set rate increase... I dropped my Gold package to the Silver and I cancelled HBO on Demand (a waste with a DVR) I was considering a 2nd DVR but considering the $1.50 premium channel mirror fee and the extra DVR fee, that plan is canned. :( I'm looking at DirecTV...

I wouldn't say VOOM sucks...it's "something" to satisfy and new HDTV set, but VOOM is pretty boring. My favorite channel WAS the Monster Channel but they repeat soooo much. I got to watch HD Galactica reruns on UHD awhile back and am now craving the SciFi channel in HD. The Channel 710...

Exactly my answer. My HD channels have been but but the low end analog and digital SD channels were pixelating and making crackling sounds. I was too busy to complain but I did see Optimum trucks in the area and after some days the problem when away.
