Older SIRIUS radios also can't support some new channels of SIRIUS (mostly Canadian, Hardcore Sports) and parental controls. It's pretty obivous that the hardware just doesn't support certain features (selectively hiding/showing channels, data protcols, something) that's integral to this...

XM and SIRIUS have much worse bandwidth restrictions as they only have 12MHz of spectrum to work with, and both of them broadcast the same signal three times (two offset by 4 seconds and 1 for terrestrial repeaters) in that spectrum so 4MHz "usable" before error correction, etc. XM and SIRIUS...

That's unfortunate for the pre/post games but NESN-HD is THE most useless channel any other time of the day so it's not ALL that bad... unless you are a big P90X, Sham-Wow, Colon-Cleanse and New England Fishing fan.

How about it just doesn't return to live TV when it's done? Media Center just dims the screen and presents you with your options, "Restart", "Delete", etc...

The "best of" packages will NOT require new radios. A la carte will require new radios, due out in about 3 months and full-interorperabiilty (both services, one radio) is more like 9 months out.

That's how Time-Warner's Scientific Atlanta/SARA DVRs do it too, makes sense. You even get the list of shows if you tune to the channel manually I believe.

I ended up getting a bargain basement price on a BD10 when the BD30 came out and the BD50 was released. Since the BD10 also does analog out (except DTS-MA which I'm fine with) it is a great deal without having to buy a BD50 and I can still keep my receiver. Sweet deal.

Not a huge surprise, these are ALL channels that left the XM birds probably 3 years ago! I bet they drop them from XM Online as well.
